I can already run a dominix for level 4's but the dps and lack of range makes the missions very slow, plus drone issues get quite annoying after a while.
I can run a t2 equiped megathron but it seems I'm either short pg for guns or tank (with adv weapons upgrade 3).
If anyone has any good, non-billion isk faction set ups for a megathron for 4's and would be nice enough to share it, I'd be appreciative. |

Well one of my m8s uses a Megathron with this sort of setup:
- Same tank you use on your domi
- Couple Large rails, couple med rails, couple small blasters/rails
- those lovely t2 med drones..
You can do quite a lot with a mega tbh.. just run it in semi gank mode, so don't try fitting 6 425's on there.. is my opinion at least.
Also, domi lacking range?? I use 2 drone links and sentry drones (5 wardens, 5 gardes) so I can kill from 5-85 km (targetting range kinda limits my range)... maybe also an option..

If you train sentry drones you'll find the Domi a much more effective mission BS.

Its not the range of the drones, its smart use of the drones. In most missions sending your drones 85km is a way to lose your drones and gain bonus aggro :)
If I can't use a large gun set up then I gain no bonus over the domi. Where a mega is superior is being able to not worry about aggro with drones and being able to open up at ranges over 100km effectively. With 6 425 II's and AM, anything in about 50km sort of melts :)
From the look of it I'd have to use a blasterthron set up or a faction one, and the blasterthron suffers pretty hard in the range department.
Looks like I'm stuck with my whale until I get a navy issue or npc mega

Thats the point of having sentry drones, they can shoot 85km but you don't have to send them all that way. I'm currently doing lvl 3s in my Domi to get standing with a new corp, most of the time I can clear the mission without moving from the warp in spot... warp in, drop sentry drones, start firing, complete mission. If you get the spawns moving towards you sentries will one-volly most frigs/destroyers and make short work of cruisers/BCs. plus, if one drone starts taking fire I can instantly scoop it and re-deploy.

I've used sentries with my domi, they are fine, but do not come close to compare damage wise to 425 II's. Trust me on this 
Anyways I worked out a potential set up
