I know this may have been disucssed already, but i am wondering why tech 2 missiles come in all damage types but tech 2 projectiles are limited.
One of the things i liked about projectiles was the ability to determine damage type, but with tech 2 that is not possible. Is there a reason for this?

you got the shaft from ccp 
t2 drones and missiles are the ones where you can choose..
amarr and minmatar ammo have needed some lubbin for quite some time now.

explosive and kinetic are the "racial" damage for minmatar, that's the main reason why there is no variation in the T2 ammo for projectiles. Don't forget hail does the same amount of pure damage(15 in total for small) then the other T2 equivalent ammo. ... oh well Rabble rabble ra...(meh) |

The mixed damage type of turret ammo is once again something "versatile" that isnt really useful...I wouldnt mind being able to hit for 100% kinetic damage for example. =)
But its a relatively minor issue and I think that missiles and turrets should be pretty different. Its adds to the flavor of Eve.

If you think barrage is in any way, shape, or form 'the shaft', then I have to wonder about what you consider not 'the shaft'. Ammo with 1000 base damage?

so overall it doesnt have much effect on the projectile turrets vs. missiles in damage done?

I think that change is in the works.
They're also going to limit Amarr to Em, Gallente to Therm, and Minmatar to target painting.

Well thats the point, Raven is the problem, all other caldari missile spammers are balanced if not slightly underpowered (nighthawk).

Well thats the point, Raven is the problem, all other caldari missile spammers are balanced if not slightly underpowered (nighthawk).
Indeed, try convincing the missile chavs of that though . Although I'd prefer that there wouldn't be damage-type specific damage bonuses, right now within eve I don't see how this could be solved without changing missiles radically(eg. making different missiles racial with 2 damage types etc. etc.) Potential solution to the current Recon cloak and cyno bug... oh well Rabble rabble ra...(meh) |
