hi
what do i need to keep an back-up in the eve folder to not lose any settings, folders (p&p)(bookmarks, buddyies etc)?
What do i need to keep to not lose everything just becouse my hdd decide to crash some day? I know that i wont lose my bookmarks and stuff but all organisation and settings etc. will be gone.. so what do i do?

All you need to backup is the Settings folder and prefs.ini file under the ...\CCP\EVE\cache folder.

Bookmarks are kept serverside and not on your computer ;)

that was my first reaction too, but if he talks about browser BM they are clientside

and by the way
read my post again
i said that i know that i wont lose my bookmarks, but i will lose my folders that i have sorted them in!!
is the Settings folder and prefs.ini file under the ...\CCP\EVE\cache the only things that i need to back-up
+ pictures (portraits) and browser material?

I think the BM folsders are in the cache\Machonet Directory

Actually the only thing you need in cache folder is EVE\cache\Settings
Anything other than that folder can be delete.

prefs.ini also needs to be backed up if you don't want to lose window positions and other settings. Bookmark folders are stored in the settings folder but the client settings are in prefs.ini.

keep the the settings folder in order to keep your BM folders, although BMs are stored on the server, the BM FOLDERS are store locally
