Both in EVE and in real life, objective facts are non-existant.
Everything is a perception. Who knows that the way you and I see green is the same? We agreed upon it being "green", but who says it shows the same in both our brains?
It's the same on an inter-alliance level. No-one has full information, everyone tries to extrapolate from their base of information and even then they will color their opinion on the facts in a different way if it's externally or internally communicated.
Even "news agencies" are subjective, ISD is subjective because in the end it's a human being a character that sees things, talks to people and has to take a guess on who's telling the truth. I remember a lot of occasions where I read the in-game news and thought: "hahahaha, lol... that guy is so wrong it isn't funny, he must be some G/Curse/etc alt yadda yadda".

Not really, it's tough to get the unbiased facts because it's much more valuable for propaganda and morale if you spin what happened.
