So far I love this game...it is just sooo open ended! I am, however, a bit confused on the training. I would like to be able to cloak my ship for attacks but also would like to train in science. Is this possible? Can you basically train in everything it just takes time?? Also someone told me to buy some books that help speed up the process...where are they?
Many thanks!!!!!!

Yes it is possible. You can train any skill in this game as long as a skill book is available for it.
The books that speed up learning time are called learning skills. They take time to learn as well, but they benifit over the long run. I would suggest getting them to at least level 3 as that will pay off very soon. Later you can train them higher. You get them in the same place as you get other skills. ______________________________________________

Train "Cloaking" and buy a cloaking module. You'll also need a ship. You cannot attack when you are cloaked.
Train science. I don't see how this is not possible. (unless you only have 10 minutes left on your trial account).
You can train anything that does not say you cannot train. Skill books are digital textbooks that you buy to train the specified skill. If you already have a skill, you do not have to buy the same book.
Tip: Do not carry skill books in cargo hold.

When you have trained the pre-reqs skills to the required levels and have obtained the Cloaking skill book.

There are cloaks that you can attatch to most any ship, but they have sevier restrictions, there are also Covert Ops Frigates and Force Recon Cruisers (not to be confused with Combat Recon Cruisers, that are designed to cloak

I am interested in becoming a cloaker myself so i checked the prereqs (and mention them here for the lazy man or the people not yet familiar with the item database or the full item market overview):
- To use cloaks you need the cloaking skill - The cloaking skill has Electronics 5 as prerequisite. - AFAIK, Electronics doesn't have a prerequisite. - Covert ops frigates, ships built explicitly for cloaking, the only ships (apart from a reconaisance cruiser) able to fit the covert ops cloak (the only cloaking device allowing you to warp while cloaked) require the Covert ops skill. - Covert ops requires Spaceship command 3 as well as Electronics upgrades 3. To use the Covert ops cloak you also need Cloaking 4.

You can train any skill in this game, as long as the requirements are met. Cloaking skill itself can be obtained pretty quickly. But to realy fly stealthy you want a covop ship, wich takes a bit longer to train.
Oh and the cloaking devices are pretty expensive, even overpriced. I still wonder who pays 60 mil for a covop cloak

However the actual ship itself requires racial Frigate 5 and Electronic Upgrades 5.
