a quick question to those of you who use both after effects AND premiere when making a vid: do you render the final cut from after effects, or export it as a premiere project and then export from there? i dont yet have production studio

cheers in advance.

I make all the seperate parts in After Effects and render it uncompressed, then import them into Premiere, fiddle with it a bit and render it in premiere. ---> My vids <--- latest movie = Lock 'N Load 3 |

Rendering from either one is just fine. It depends on where you finish up at. I sometimes bounce back and forth between the two, depending on the size of the file. For larger files, I normally make the smaller parts in after effects and finish up in premier. For smaller ones, I can usually get it done in a single pass of AE and don't have to go to premier at all.

My FRAPS saves at 640x480, so thats what I make my video, yet I export it as WMV at 100% quality, and it has a larger file size and looks worse than Windows Movie Maker, so I dont know what I'm doing wrong.

I render all the bits of movie in after effects, compressed using PICVideo at 100% quality (almost lossless, but filesize is about 75% of uncompressed) then put it all together in premiere, add in audio tracks (edited in audacity) and render the final video using DIVX codec at whatever bitrate I want the final to be.
