Edited by: Miko Lee on 04/10/2006 19:36:46 I need help with Enemies Abound mission Part 5. Level 4
I have no problems with parts 1 û 4 but I cannot stay long enough in part 5 to take notes.
The rats appear faster than I can kill them probably due to wrong missile types. I also cannot seem to be able to tank them Minmater ships as easily as I can tank the Gallente ships.
Does anyone have a good strategy to do this mission with a Raven and most skills maxed out.
Thanks
edt i am talking lvl4 missions

I solo it in a standard Raven with Gist XL/Dread Invul tank and Jav torps. The waiting is harder than the actual fighting. With only T1/T2 stuff it is extremely hard if not impossible to solo though. Which is good. --------- ZOMG my sig was concordokkened! Link removed due to bad language on remote site. -wystler

There is a timer on it so you've got to be ready to go before you accept the mission. Otherwise within 40 mins or so all the spawns will be come at once. I its possible to do solo only with faction mods but only if you go right away. I would take a couple of friends to help you tank and deal damage.
Its a horrible set of missions - i'm not doing Enemies abound again. ------------------------------------------------

I can solo it in a standard raven and have been for maybe 3 months with t2 mods but i only use the t2 siege launchers for the rof bonus, i stick with standard ammo. You have to be organised, have bottle, know your targets and the order with which to kill, try to stagger you missiles so they never run out of ammo at the same time oh, and it helps if u haven't spent the afternoon on the ale (everything helps) the darkana's die with explosive torps, but if the darkana's arrive and u haven't had chance to change from your thermal types, i'd debate bothering as i can be launching a 2nd salvo in the time it takes to reload your ammo.

I myself have only just recently been able to solo the mission, mainly due to the use of a nightmare and the addition of missiles since the total arc is desingned to make a beam user cry.
Now as for specific tips.
Do a 180 turn on entry, and start moving away from the pirate gate, if your in a raven I suspect you do not have an ab in so this is double important.
Take the BS's down first in the initial aggros, Tempest beeing the most inportant.
you can warp out and come back in, just keep in mind, normaly only the last "group" you fired at will aggro you, but once you shoot all remaning groups will wake up and make you there friend.
As for missile types, I have found that explosive for the Minny ships is the best overall. If you wish to mix and match by all means. go with what you are comfortable with.
If you are in an apoc or navy apoc, I strongly suggest a speed boost and Defender missiles and then it is just a waiting game to kill and move to range and snip and pick.
I do not recomend doing this mission in any non navy bs save the raven if you have good skills. Not solo anyway for part 5. parts 1-4 are fine in an apoc if you dont lose your head and also realize you will have to change loadouts to deal with the swarmers.
