Is there not an election being held? Im not saying Democracy is perfect, im not saying our democracy is perfect, its like a Velator, a bit old, a bit clunky, but it works at the end of the day.
And so, after what isnt the Federations finest period of government, we are getting our elections....

We are getting elections where one candidate has changed the laws so he can run again. The same candidate that has postponed the elections for almost 2 years. ----------------------

I hate to remind the Caldari, but you don't get a vote. The Caldari left the Federation for their own (perhaps) good and valid reasons. You can't fight a war of separation and then expect to have input to the nation from which you just separated.
Stay in Caldari. Leave Gallente to those of us who still live here, whether Jin-Mei, Intaki, or "pure blood" Gallente, if there is such a thing these days.

Many prefer the Caldari or even the Amarr system because these systems allow them to coast: to do nothing, to let others rule their lives, to sit in an apathetic trance waiting for the next time they are moved by someone else.
Democracy only works when the people really work at ruling. Power cannot be taken away from individuals, it can only be surrendered. All of this must by neccessity begin at the individual personal level. Far too many in the Gallente electorate have willingly surrendered their power in hopes of being kept like pets.
I will not be kept. I will participate in the election for the same reason I always cut cards when playing fizzbin: it may or may not make a difference but I always try every advantage I might get. However, if the winning candidate can coerce the other branches to act so as to encourage abdication of popular sovreignty, I retain the right to live by my own rules. I will not give up my individual sovreignty.
