Dear devs... I don't know what you did with the last patch... Before, Eve Online worked perfectly under Windows Vista (Tested it both with Tranquility and Singularity). With the last patch, you messed up that - it's impossible to start the program in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode now. When I want to connect without that mode, I get that message upon connecting:
The client's local session information is corrupt, probably as a result of failed cleanup during a disconnect. Connecting to the server in this state could lead to a rather unpleasant game experience. Please restart the client prior to logging in.
Can you PLEASE start on working on the code that it's compatible with both XP and Vista? Microsoft releases the last beta this friday, after that they will start with the final production. The list of known bugs decreased to under 1000 - and at that rate the release of Vista might be before christmas. And who knows... Maybe you can build in a few things one day: Vista has a built in speech recognition - what about some commands like "adress book", "market", "science and industry"? Maybe allow it to dictate into the chat window? --- The future begins now - in EVE we live it, in real life we create it! |

Well they have to give a crap before it is released of course. Otherwise the day it comes out and it doesn't work they are rushing patches, which isn't smart.

Well no they dont, lots of games wont work with Vista, but for now, until they say they will support the OS (which seems unlikey until its released, as Vista code will change and whats compatable with Vista today might not be tommorow), and theres no need to waste dev time. --------------------------

EVE runs fine on RC1 here, no compatibility mode needed.

For me, EVE didn't work under Vista until last patch, now it runs fine. It used to say DX 9.2b or something wasn't installed.
