There are a ton of macros in the area our corp is situated, and we have been running increasing raids on their jetcans. I read somewhere that we should petition a macroer before we jack his loot, so the GMs don't think we are working with them... how do I do this? Excuse the newbness, but I have no idea how to petition someone. Also, do we all have to petition them? Can we just petition a macroer once and raid as often as we like, or do we have to petition every single time?
I'd really hate to get banned for throwing monkey wrenches in a macroer's business.

Easily acomplished: press escape, click petition at the bottom of the window, chose exploit, and list the names of te macroers that you are removeing the ore frmm and state that you are doing so.
rense repeat for any and all macroers you perform industrial sabotage on. and each day you do it.

Each day huh? Damn, I was hoping I could petition them once, then just set standings on them so I know if I have already petitioned them.
<sigh> Oh well, it ain't easy being legit I guess.
That does suck though... some of those "names" are damn hard to type, especially in a dark room. I got it, I will make a new note with a list of the macros I harass. Copy and paste ftw.

Edited by: Princess Antelope on 06/10/2006 06:10:39 Hehe, we used to do that when we were in empire space. I made a notepad with the name of every rang rang that I'd ever jacked. Then when I was going to a can jacking run I'd petition with the name of every rang that I was working currently and in the past. The list was up to about 50 by the time we got over it Hopefuly recieving a similar petrition almost daily for 2 months would have given the GM's the hint. Interestingly there was no decrease in the macro activity in our area and I never knew of any of them getting banned.
Hey, they might be cheating but they still pay CCP their $20AUD per month so don't expect any GM help out there.

Since I can't declare war on an NPC corp, my corporation has singlehandedly ended the macrominer/isk farmer threat in one of our systems simply by maintaining a steady supply of raiding their cans, and suiciding their covetors/retrievers.
While my standings did take a full 2 point hit for all the suicides I got on them, it eventually made them move somewhere else. I've learned that petitioning them doesn't do anything, so I at least want them out of my system and into somebody else's.
Hell, all the kernite used to be gone within 24 hours of kernite respawn, before I started my suicide anti-macro campaign. ----- CEO, Astrum Contract Services Group

Where do you find macroers using cans anyway? I wouldn't mind doinga little raiding myself. I've seen them all over Gallente space in barges but they don't ever leave cans. They just slurp, instadock, instajump, lather, rinse and repeat. |

Lonetrek is rife with them... they don't even try to hide. When you see pilots named XXXXXX1 through XXXXXX42, all in covetors, all in noob corp, and they never chat even when chatted to, it kinda makes it easy. They never pick up their pirate loot either, so if you warp in and see 30 loot cans floating around a covetor, chances are it's a macro. I usually try to initiate conversation with them just to be sure, but so far none have responded.
Edit: LOL SOH'CAH'TOA that would be a sight to see!

Edited by: Soporo on 08/10/2006 09:43:27 Visit Shihuken Ice Fields sometime if you want to see an ENORMOUS Macro operation.I have been petitioning those bast***s several times, and theres never any change...
Buncha guys on Macrointel channel(anti-macro chan) made a couple Mass Suicide Ops on them,a thing of beauty, and profitable.
As for petitioning, people say we should, but I personally think it just jams up the other petitions. As I've noted before the same ole macros are still there.

i suicided a Hulk once
I had been chatting in local a couple hours earlier about the possibilty of suiciding a couple of macroers and then I spotted the two hulks. Picked one and lit off 8 named thermal SB next to him. I was hoping to get his pod but Concords gank squad got there too soon for that final couple of *****s of the SB. I was also hoping to get one or two of his T2 ice miners as well to pay for the insurance on my Raven but it was not to be.
Worth it for the convo after though where first he asked me why I had done that. I simply claimed that piracy was funny. (it is IMHO) and he then asked me to pay for his hulk and fittings at which point i politely suggested that a) he use a mackinaw as its better and cheaper for ice. and b) he go forth and multiply with himself. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Got Lag? Sweet Al, simply sweet! :)
On the positive side, believing what I'm told, some Macro Miners falsely petitioned an anti-macro hunter for "posting trojan links in local" last night. GM's were all over it like a rash. It would be nice to know if:- a) The poor hunter got censured in some way. b) The false petitioner was censured in some way. c) Any GM looked into his macro mining. Ok, so c) is a total joke, but I thought I would just add it for the humourous value. But d) Did it even happen at all?
Seriously, if you manage to flip a tractored JetCan with your shuttle and you started 34Km away, it's a Macro in the hauler, make no mistake. |

ok, imagine the following situation;
- one guy pods a macrominer in his barge, sees some smack in local, says 'hi' back (or something alike ) and logs/leaves local. - same guy logs on the next evening and finds his wallet in the negative because a GM has reversed a donation and actually doubled that amount - guy creates petition asking for info and is told there are suspicions about him being an isk buyer - guy sees in local a message 'gonna cost you 50 bucks *******' (hmmm gtc selling to get out of debt anyone?) from the guy he podded the night before - over the coming days 2 other donations are received, one was immediately petitioned, the other was already reversed by a GM because he wasn't logged on.
Now, I'm NOT sure whether this guys did or did not buy ISK, but if if he does speak the trurh I'd say it is something one needs to be aware of.

Edited by: Gaven Blands on 10/10/2006 11:34:21 shyamala, I apologise, I just snipped my response. I've decided that the predicament you speak of probably occurred and it saddens me. That is all.
Oh, another thought I added in. What convinced me that the situation occurred:::
The guy said "Gonna cost you 50 bucks" I have long held the opinion that the majority of people in Eve do think of a ship costing 200 million isk, but think of it as costing $50. The situation in Eve is pretty forlorn for anybody wanting to play by the stated rules. Sadly no company will ever write a competing product to Eve and ban Sweatshop Farmers, because there is not enough money in making a product like that. I believe that, in the end, the final solution so to speak, will be an Eve clone, with no monthly subscription, and no isk at all, just a Credit Card shop for your stuff. Seriously, if you manage to flip a tractored JetCan with your shuttle and you started 34Km away, it's a Macro in the hauler, make no mistake. |
