Apologies to all in sundry if this topic has been brought up before.
But the thought came to me the other night...
What if CCP set up a billing system so that if instead of purchasing a seperate account, a customer could pay for the ability to train 2 or 3 characters on one account at the same time. CCP may wish to offer this at a rate reduced somewhat from the price of paying for another account, in that the advantage of having said characters simultaneously logged on is lost if they are both on the same account.

It's not a bad idea. I suspect that it would lead to characters being thriftily trained then peddled for profit, but that's speculation.
I would certainly enjoy the opportunity to train a second character on my account.

I would be all for this, IF they allowed you to log into both chars at the same time, otherwise it dosn't really need to be changed.

I like the idea.
However the above poster...If you want to log on Both Alts at the same time then they should charge you double the subscription.

I think this is a great idea.
I want to train up an alt, but I don't care to pay another full subscription or manage another account. I have no desire to play the two characters at the same time either. I just want them both to be training all the time, so when I want to mine I can log in one, when I want to fight log in the other.

Yeah, this process would only really work for those who want the alt, but don't want to run two accounts.
Nothing says you can't have both types. I'd probably have one account with double-pay, and another account for my support alt. That's just me.
