Edited by: n sx on 06/10/2006 02:46:40 What started out as an impromptue IAC gang searching for some kills turned into one of the greatest fights I have personally been involved in playing EVE. This epic lag free event started at 04:59AM, ending eventually at 06:11 EVE time. The fighting was non-stop, it simply went on and on resulting in 200km's of cans and drones.
The IAC gang numbered a total of 17 including only 4 battleships, cruisers and a few Interceptors which took a on a CHIMP gang with greater numbers and significantly more firepower. From the moment we jumped in we thought we were in for a short sharp death, only to be amazed by the continued onslaught of IAC success and CHIMP's mere rufusal to give up.
This epic tale saw a total of only 5 IAC destroyed and a massive 82 losses to CHIMP. Highlights for IAC saw the destruction of a Machariel and the fielding of a CHIMP Thanatos carrier at the jump gate. Those fighters made us warp out more than anything.
Midway through the fight, IAC spent at least 10 minutes pounding on the Thanatos, with no success. We simply had to accept the fact we didn't have enough firepower and that we had to remove the support if we wanted to stay alive. In the end I think we ran out of ammo, and CHIMP seemed to have run out of ships!
Our gang has posted this here, not to rub this into CHIMP's noses, but simply to say thank-you for the hour of absolute fun that you provided us. Your relentless support of your fellow team mates was admirable and you weren't afraid to field the expensive gear. In the same respect all our pilots were there to die and were ready to do so. I truly hope that even being on the receiving end you enjoyed that engagement as much as we did. It's events like this that you simply play EVE for.
On behalf of all the pilots involved in this fight from IAC, we take out hat off to you.
The whole event resulted in a total of 20gigabytes of FRAPS footage (on one capture), of which was cut down to 16minutes, and then played back at double time. If you want to download it, grab it here. 180mbytes.
Thanks go to CHIMP for the amazing fight, Gus Preston for FRAPS footage, EVE Files for the hosting and a big thank-you to the IAC gang who made it happen.

Z-H and Immensea in General will always be regarded as GreekTown.
The current residents of the region can have their fun, but sooner or later when the time is right, The greek masses will retake Immensea.

Hehe... I <3 all their FCs.
That was a pretty awesome fight. The way it was fought reminded me of the early CC vs IAC fights just on a much much larger scale.
I have two questions... was there a chimp FC and if so, what the heck was he thinking?
and... would my buddies in IAC try to kill me if I visited my old turf in G-7?

Good fight and much fun....
I won't go into making excuses or anything, but at least don't come in here tryin to portray like you took out a fleet that was ready, organized and had you out numbered. It simply is not true.... We had very few at gates when u came in, and most where still fitting ships, since we only had about 5-10 min notice.
You kept popping us cause we had much fewers numbers at fight (e.g. I think 10 was the most we had in fight at same time, rest of it was staggered/solo re-join fight). Just cause we kept taking out 2nd/3rd/4th ships, doesn't mean we had more people and outnumbered you :/
Now last night, when yo came in with 17 BS's..we straight got pwned....Nice fight again :)
(ps- can u leave us alone to rebuild ships...K thnks) :P

Not to be a bastard....but you did have 5 bs, a few battlecruisers, cruisers and frigs and a thanatos!! with 10 fighters and you were at range of the gate. You DID have us outnumbered as we only had 4 BS at the beginning and 3 for the majority. You certaily LOOKED prepaired sitting on the gate at optimal ranges with the fighters assigned but hey...maybe im wrong.
So...had primary beens been called and fire focused you would have killed us pretty sharpish. Also, Thanatos....remote rep etc right? i mean its for support. i never saw much support being streamed to that poor macharial who tanked pretty damn well.
We did arrive outnumbered, you had plenty time to get organized etc.
Lub Gus
