The Council of Stellar Management (CSM) is the player elected body that regularly discusses ideas on behalf of the player base with the developers and plays a significant role as consultant.
Voting for CSM 10 begins February 25th and ends on March 10th, so get ready and don't miss your chance to bring your candidate of choice into office!
But not only should you vote, you also should collect the gift that will be available for every account active when the voting beings: the Council Diplomatic Shuttle!
Read all about the CSM 10 elections and the gift in CCP Leeloo's latest blog In Celebration Of CSM X!

We considered, this but after discussion we felt that we'd rather do it this way.
Giving a relatively strong motivation for voting in the form of gifts that have tangible value in game means that people would be given the incentive to vote for no reason other than to get the ship, and would just spam votes even if they weren't interested.
We'd rather use the ship simply to raise awareness of the election, and the CSM in general, and let people educate themselves properly and make their vote count, rather than just spamming votes to get shiny stuff.
We'd rather see educated and reasoned voting, rather than ballot spamming for the sake of getting a reward.

If there is only 1 candidate that I would be willing to vote for and they are knocked out due to low votes or something, your new system will automatically send my vote to someone else in the next round of voting that "shares similarities"?
edited Note. It's sad everyone is more concerned about some reward than having a candidate voted into the CSM by this new system that really shouldn't be there. |

Your vote will only transfer to candidates you explicitly select. If you were to only select a single candidate and they were to be knocked out, that vote would be discarded.
This is no different to last year.

Despite frustrations voiced by some on the CSM, and previous apathy in the player-base, this NEW piece of in-game outreach shows that CCP clearly continues to place importance on the CSM concept.

I never used to care about voting, but the longer I play, the more I see it as necessary and pretty relevant. From what I see, the CSM's are working (some more than others!) I will let you feel self-guilt over who I mean there. :) |

Free stuff \o/
I approve of the way this is being rolled out, and I have stacks of accounts. Seems a bit greedy to farm them for free stuff and I can't really be arsed logging into account management to do it anyway. Please just put them in the redeem screen ingame, and cap people to stop farming rather than annoying everyone by making us do it via account management.

Let me try to understand.
Eit her the CSM is effective or useless.
If useless then do not vote, get the bpc. No skin off your nose and we get to play politics. Or do vote secure in the knowledge that it makes no difference. You still get the bpc.
But what if the CSM are not useless? Then you have to choose whether to vote or not. Don't vote and others get to choose how CCP will be advised. Maybe other people will choose well, maybe not. Or you vote and are part of the process. You still get the bpc and a say in what happens.
Vote or don't, you get something.
Whether you participate or even believe that CSM has substance does not change the fact that CCP is on record as supporting our efforts. They get the final say on this.

You could wear mayonnaise, albeit it's completely disgusting and probably uncomfortable. Eww!
Oh, and there is no spoon!

MMO's have player councils all the time.. this is nothing new and CCP was not the 1st to ever come up with the idea. CCP is the 1st however to do things like give permanent seats to someone/alliance which will forever be a problem since the folks come into it are also part of that same alliance (off the books).. so yeah as it stands it needs to be revamped |

If I remember right, CCP was the first to implement a democratically elected player council, though I can't be sure, as it has been a few years since the CSM came to be. However, since it is democratically elected, CCP does not give permanant seats to anyone. That is an outright lie! Nothing needs to be revamped, except your bad attitude and lack of proper research.
Since it's obvious from your recent posting history that you dislike EVE and CCP, I question why you are still subscribed. It would probably be better for you to find a game you will be happier with, don't you think? If you do leave, can I haz your stuffz?

CSM voting's all good, but what's with this shuttle? 10 per account is essentially a lifetime's supply for every EVE player. This is a shuttle buff in disguise, these things have 50% more EHP than a gallente shuttle, no drawbacks and are only limited issue in the most technical sense. If you want to buff shuttle EHP by 50%, just do it, don't pretend that it's a limited edition hull. |

they only implemented it cause the devs where caught cheating and it was the easiest way for them to not have eve online go under.
