i just sold a character and wish for the transaction to be as smooth as possible. If i am not mistaken i will have to recieve the proceeds first before tranfer (obviously, its at 2 billion isk) is there a best way to do this for both parties?
Please, your input.
thank you

Edited by: n00b scout on 06/10/2006 18:39:34 I bought a char, sent the isk. After cleaning out his stuff, the previous owner got him podded without a clone to cover all of the SP (ole school clone jump to empire). I appealed it and CCP told me tough cookies. I would never, ever send the ISK first.

This is so fake... CCP would not say that... Loosing your pod without a clone only knocks off about 700,000.. When i got no-clone-podded on a 21mil Amarr Hac char... i lost Amarr Cruiser 5 to 4 and like 21%....

Edited by: Traxex on 06/10/2006 19:39:52 Since it isn't fake, I'll post with the char I bought. This one.
I'd post the appeals too but that's a forum rule violation. And yes the loss was about 2 weeks of SP. I believe the previous owner did it on purpose too because I made the mistake of telling him I was in Iron.
Yes tough cookies isn't the response; It was long and well thought out of words to try to appease me. But bottom line was no they weren't going to do it.

well a bit off topic, u just ask where the char is and where the clone is located... hell u could search it with an agent prior to isk transfer... these aren't the tidbits i was looking for, but it so happens i imagine you just copy convo and petition with any deviation, yes?

Yea it was my mistake. I saw the corp history, Lotka Volterra. A well respected foe. Shoot at me, yes, scammers no. He told me he was quitting the game, I figured he was ok.

as far as I am aware, you should be treating a character transfer like a GTC sale.
Both parties should evemail each other with the details of what is taking place - the price and the SP and assests of the character being traded.
If you pay your isk and don't receive the character as advertised, then you can petition it as there would be proof
Traxex, I can understand CCP refusing an SP restore, though I would have thought that you could have claimed a scam given that you didn't get what you had been told you would get. However, if it was a deliberate podding, then that is just petty. unlucky :(
