Well putting the arguments aside regarding whether or not the "pirates" of FD would come out to fight or not.
It sure was gratifying to see all those regular folk on their own business flying peacefully through FD-MLJ the other night on they're way to sell lots of expensive minerals.
...but the most gratifying part was that you nancy "carebear pirates" werent going to get a single grain of their minerals while we were keeping the gate open to regular folk...
..HHI's job was done and it was great to have others involved too, Hats off to Evol and D P corps.
Your days in FD are numbered "whining carebear pirates" expect more of this treatment in the future and it can come at any time whereas all you guys can do is sit at yer gates and wonder if tonights going to be your night when you watch yer BS implode...

i would command a fleet of 20 cruisers against 8 battleships anyday, 10 black birds to lock down the battleships 10 caracals with tops and cruise missiles and the rest would be history

Only if the BS pilot has less than 2 mill experience points, can't use large weapons, or has no clue how to equip. Cruisers that take on battleships with high-end "named" equipment are a looter's dream-come-true.
As for what Hanns said, yeah, you could kill 8 BS with 10 Blackbirds and 10 Caracals--but everything would have to go right. Fail to jam one or two BS, and the cruisers start dying at the rate of about one every 20 seconds. As the cruisers start dying, more BS will be freed, and the plan would go down-hill very quickly.
The fact is, cruisers are best used in conjunction with battleships. And the only cruisers in the game worth a hill of beans for PvP are the Blackbird and Caracal.

Yes definately, but if everyone was switched on and all went smoothly it would be an awesome sight

PS just because the caracal can't mount lots of turrets doesn't mean other cruisers can't mount more launchers, you know... well, unless you have an Amarr ship.

Or Gallente :(. I gotta get a Megathron just to be able to play around with all my pretty missiles (or just train Cali frig and cruiser i guess...).
