Preddz Radio Free Mars 3	Posted - 2015.02.20 12:49:20 - [1] - Quote Hi, Im currently thinking about doing Level 4 missions, but I am a bit stuck on which ships are now the most viable for this (i have been on a break from EvE for the past few expansions). My Alt can fly Minmatar and Caldari (Shield), and I have been looking at the Machariel and the Rattlesnake. have flown the rattle before when doing complexes in Null, but I always struggled with the DPS output. My main can fly Gallente (Armor), so I was looking at the Vindicator and the Dominixas potential candidates. At the moment I can only afford to have one ship, but plan to hopefully run both at some point. I noticed that the Pirate ships have dropped in Price quite significantly since I last played, so I thought this may be due to Nerfs? I have roughly a 1.6bil budget for the ship, so any advice would be greatly appreciated on which ship to use and/or fits. Many Thanks.

Warmonger Simon Wormbro Ocularis Inferno 4	Posted - 2015.02.20 12:54:55 - [3] - Quote Depends on your skills really. I fly a MJD sniper domi for 4's with 650 dps and 60+30km gardes II. Not the greatest tank but with MJD it's not really needed that much. And damage application is pretty good too.

It is most likely then that what you have flown before was the "old domi with missiles", fitting a huge passive tank and plugging away... The current Rattler is a very different beast. You can expect up to about 1400 (paper) DPS from the thing - about 50/50 drone and missile. A Gecko on the modern 'snake will monster a lot of mission rats fast enough that you may have trouble keeping up. Meanwhile the bonused cruise (my preference, some will recommend rapid heavies) will be pounding down the BS... LMJD or active tank and fill your lows with damage.

Machariel is the Best ship for LvL 4 if you have skills. It pops frigs in half volley, almost insta pops cruisers and does up to 1600 dps to Bs / BC / Cruisers. Raven is nowhere near it.

If you want to do the level 4 missions for the isk, then i would highly recommend you to invest in a Marauder if you can fly anyone of those. I fly a Kronos in level 4 missions my self and on most, i can earn 50-60 million isk on one mission by looting and salvaging the wrecks with the tractor beam and salvager on my Kronos. This is for those who want to do level 4 missions effectively with just one character instead of having an alt to just do the salvaging. Shield booster, 2 resist modules, prop mod, the rest damage/projection modules. Machariel for missions with few rats in each pocket. Missiles just feel tedious to use now. Although I would guess there are a few missions with range inconsistencies that make a mach less awesome. @ChainsawPlankto
