Is it worth it? As it's kind of pricey for a mag.
Also, if I where to start a subscription at an earlier mag (say #3), would I still get the posters from the earlier ones(#3 and 4)?
Thanks! -------- I gave up on sigs. As all the beatings are starting to hurt and leave nasty bruises. |

I think EON is very much worth it. I started subscribing at EON 3, and each issue has so much content it takes days to get through it. You learn ALOT about the game and your love and knowledge with the game will only grow stronger with EON.
And I think you get the posters from the earlier ones if you start subscribing, but im not 100%.

Short answer: YES!!!
I have got all the 5 magazines so far. ANd I will get another subscription in November (saving all my money for the fanfest rite now..)
First, you learn more about the world as a whole. Then you learn about certain people who stands out from the playerbase. Like CYVOK, Trigger, Shamiz, Maggot, Count TaSessine, Hardin... and many many others.
Then, we have interviews with the Devs. ALWAYS GREAT READING!!
Then we have insights into ships. Like interceptors. What to fit, they key roles. how good they are at certain key features.
Wanna become a trading tyccoon? U will find articles about it. How to navigate better? Yep, you will find it here. How to kill people more efficiently? Im sure you will find an article made by EVE specialists on the topic...
And a lot lot lot lot more.
Yes, the magazine is well worth subscribing to, and as soon the fanfest is over, and my wallet starts to grow again after the nasaussea it will undergo under the fanfest, I will renew my subscription. This magazine is too good to let go!
Just my 2 isk

As Publisher of the magazine, I can not answer whether it is good value or not - but thousands around the world certainly seem to think it is. As for the posters - yes, any previous subscriber offer will be honoured while stocks last. We still have stocks of the issue #004 poster. Issue #003 did not come with any subscriber offers.

I'm an EVE nut. Even when I hate EVE, I love it.
EON is very much worth the outrageous prices!

I just ordered a year subscription starting with Issue One (would have bought it earlier but was waiting for the reprint of issue one). Going to order another year subscription for number 5 and onwards when my next paycheck gets deposited.

Aye, 80+ pages of EVE. And even the adverts are for ingame Corps/Alliances. So nice.

Personally I didn't think it was worth the money when I bought Issue 1, it's a quick and shallow read and much of the ship advice is outdated each time they change things in-game, not to mention it's common sense if you've been playing the game for a while.
Can't speak for the rest of the issues because I never bothered to buy them... ************************************************

CCP was handing out free copies of EON 3 at E3 this year, so I took the liberty of pocketing one. On the basis of it, I decided to go for the year subscription when the offer for the poster came out with Issue #4.
It is pretty expensive for a magazine, and yes some of the game data can become outdated. But the production quality is top notch, and the fiction is generally pretty good. I also enjoy the interviews with well-known in-game personae, and insight into the development process through CCP employee profiles is always fascinating to me.
I'm eagerly awaiting Issue 5.

I subscribed from issue #1, its a good lunch time read while wishing you were at home and not work.
I must just say though, for this latest issue (which i havent read yet!) its a REAL shame that the poster was not sent in a tube seperatly or something like that, as mine come through all folded and scuffed a bit which pretty much makes it useless to mount in a frame and put on the wall |

Edited by: Gorek Loc on 09/10/2006 01:54:31 I know it's easy to say it's a good magazine, but what's in it ?
Is it possible to get a table of contents posted for one of the magazines... just to see what kind of topics are in it, or a screenshot of a few pages to get a feel for it. You really think I'm alone ? |

Well I got issue #4 and 5. And I have to say it was definitely worth it. I've got probably 3/4 of the way though the 3rd and it's great! Lots of info, interviews and fiction.
If you haven't bought at least one issue, I would definitely recommend it. ^^

I think it's worth it. The magazine is very well produced, with full glossy pages, great artwork. One amazing thing is there are absolutely no ads. The only "ads" are for actual EVE corps, or EVE related websites, so those don't really count. The fiction is also surprisingly good.
