Continuing our journey through all things PvE we will use this thread to discuss what players would like to see in regards to potential missions when Walking in Stations is deployed on Tranquility.
While the Game Design teams have their own ideas of what they would like to include we would appreciate hearing your ideas on how you would like to see missions combined with WiS, ideas on mission types, objectives and rewards. |

My answer: Smuggling missions. Afaik something about smuggling has already been said. Let those start in NPC-owned environments or those that are player-owned in a station. In easy missions, the items required should be given to your character or be transfered to your "active" ship's cargo and require you to hand them over to another person in another station from face to face. More difficult missions, which should require you to smuggle even more illegal things, could start off forcing you to search around inside the station for that item ("It's hidden in D4rthV4d3R's Boobie-Bar!") or even in another station. Something like: "Oh hello there, well...I'd like you to smuggle something for me but unfortunately I had to leave it at station XY because the security guards were after me. Go and get it before they're able to locate it and once you gathered it...bring it to YZ!"
This would, in a first step, integrate WIS into the actual gameplay, besides us watching virtual boobies and getting drunk in-game while spending hundreds of millions on T-Shirts and, of course, quafe.
Edit says: Regarding Rewards: Well...this will largely depend on how stations will work in the end. Will there be security guards that can actually scan us down with that illegal contraband and take it away from us which makes the mission fail? If it was that way, well...reward could be station equipment, like special clothing (smuggler clothing inc!) which isn't available in any other way or special furnitures. In the end the reward should not destroy the way it works at the moment with lvl IV missions in High-Sec e.g. being one of the more common income sources for combat-carebears in that area . Actually ISK-wise it should not give enough to be able to rely completely on that. Better give us rewards like I mentioned before OR special station smuggling LP with some new faction that offers stuff.
Oh and I'd find it very funny to be able to talk to my usual agents from face to face. :) |

Definitely try to incorporate station-walking into missions. Maybe even go for a full-blown Mass-Effect'Esque mission system in stations. Something to break up the "Fly your CNR to here, kill everything, then bring back item x."
Also would like to take the opportunity to say that I'm super excited about the coming new features!

STATION MISSIONS:
The interesting missions will something like a line mission.
1) Go there and take that with you(quest item) 2) Sit in this ship and path this tonel (NPCis trying to kill you on high speed) 3) Get up stairs and talk to someone (Shouting npc during the way)
If it's possible, it will be great to add some skills for the using of weapons and special equipment.
P.S. I don't know why, but alot of people thinks, that stations is the limited space buildings, but if you'll take a look at models of stations, you'll notice, taht they are huge!!!!!!! Aspecialy Gallent stations.
It will be great if it would be possible to create planetary missions, that can be added by players. I.e. someone needs bio materials, but they can be achieved from mining or best concentration in "Stone Skin Bug". go and hunt 50 of them and you'll get some amount of ISK, that owner of the mission will specify manualy. I guess, that amount of manual ISK can be controled by non-character stations :) |

This, please. Lots of smuggling and shady dealings. I'd like to see the criminal aspect of the game in highsec fleshed out, in both missions and the general player market. |

Infiltrated Guristas NPCs in Caldari stations, Infiltrated Angel NPCs in Minmatar stations, Infiltrated Blood NPCs in Amarr stations, Infiltrated Serpentis NPCs in Gallente stations.
All giving missions with the purpose of screwing the empires over from the inside, undetected. No empire standing loss if you manage to do the mission without raising suspicion.
These missions could go from rigging cargo deliveries crates to preventing a diplomats meeting or smuggling stuff, like Evely proposed earlier. |

Mystery type missions would be pretty cool. Something like talking to 3 different npcs in the station, and based on the questions you ask and the information you collect you can decide who is the culprit or person you are looking for. If you get it right, they are arrested on the spot, if not you have to go fight them in a dead space instance. The rewards will change accordingly as well.
Dunno, just an idea. |

What I would like to see is something along the lines of all those above, shady station missions with smuggled goods or maybe spying on someone inside the station or maybe asking you to infiltrate a docked ship and steal something or plant a bomb or a virus, something like that. BUT along those lines it would be super awesome if player could choose to also serve the "station concord" and able to interact with the other players by hunting down those taking on the shady deal missions. I believe doing that will give a boost to the "Bounty Hunting" aspect of the game which is not that active and will create not only nice interactivity and a certain kind of reality to the game but will also boost the roleplaying aspect, which I believe is the biggest part about actual station walking and station interaction.
I dont know about the rewards, I wouldn't like anything too much because station gameplay is not supposed to take over actual space gameplay, but some decent in-station items would be cool, like clothing and accessories that are actually not publicly available on recustomisation, maybe add some "hidden-locked" items and allow players to unlock them through station-missions. |

Ive always though about have a Walking in stations effect on the saving the damsel missions. Where you would like go to the site, kill the pirates, then get a 1 time keycard and have to take down the armor and shield to deactivate bio security and run in and save the damsel in like 5-10 min as the building "blows up". Not saying that has to be graphics of the place falling apart....but even a 5 min timer or sumtin. |

There has been quite a bit of talk about how WIS is for being off the grid and doing underhanded or illegal stuff. But I tend to role play being a good guy. Please include content for players like me.
Missions: Planting trackers on contraband cargo, or suspect's ships. (There are already missions where the agent says "we had an operative plant a tracker...", now we can be that operative).
Hacking into various systems, recovering data.
Surveillance, either by planting equipment, or directly.
After doing something to the target NPC corp, they manage to hack your navigation on your ship, and the next warp dumps you onto an ambush.
As you walk around, sometimes you find a lost item. If you figure out who it belongs to (as in which NPC) and return it, you get a reward.
On the underhanded side: Take some supplied isk, go to a particular gambling establishment, and lose it all on purpose.

I wouldn't mind seeing some kind of Puzzle type missions, like helping an archeologist uncover the secret of a ancient artifact of some kind that could lead to some kind of mission on a long forgotten station hidden deep in deadspace or nebula of some kind. |

Don't forget the multi-player part, so we mish or pvp in teams and we use eve-voice. It would be neat if the character's face was programed so the lips moved based on audio volume too... |

It would be interesting to have negotiation/gather information missions...or missions that basically involved you performing a series of actions inside the station. |

I realise this would not be a first iteration idea but I would like to see missions that appear and disappear based on player actions. For example when a player accepts a mission to smuggle cargo another mission can appear for players with high security status allowing them to intercept the smuggler. The hunter can freely attack the smuggler even in high sec(effectively kill rights)
This creates a use for sec status above 0 and makes for more interesting emergent gameplay
Obviously a lot of work would have to be done to balance the system. |

Everyone above has pretty much nailed it. Id like to also see more station walking based missions. The idea someone mentioned up there about gathering intel to find a target, using an almost mass effect method of gameplay is just perfect. I will definitely be up for that . As for what was said about getting new skills to use guns and such..... as great as an idea this really is. How can we put it in game without making it an fps/tps? i do like the idea. but i don't want to see that mechanic abused. Id also like to see incarna in exploration. Being forced to get out and check out an archeology site to scan things that are harder to extract through a ship alone. |

Talking to xyz to gather intel b/4 boarding your ship to blow things up sounds good to me too (just not all of them.)
