DirtyHarry Caldari Forsaken Empire	Posted - 2006.10.08 11:51:00 - [1] So I downloaded the Demo yesterday, and have messed around with it for a few hours. So far Ive noticed some nice changes, the main one being the server browser surprisingly enough, its not stupidly laggy like BF2 and it actually gives you accurate ping timings (again unlike BF2). As for the game itself, graphics and sound are pimp on max settings (Im not sure how it runs on mid/low end pcs, but one of my buds told me hes unable to play 64 player maps on low settings as he comepletely lags out, when he was able to without probs in BF2). The Titan mode is alot of fun and a nice change of style compared to conquest (which ofc is still available in 2142). The titan has a undocking bay which holds a transport and a gunship, the bay is also protected by a shield (no more base rape!). There are also multiple consoles nearby in the titan you can jump onto and control a turret, there are ~8 turrets on the titan that can be controlled iirc, some are anti air, and some lay down heavy vollys of fire towards ground. 4 playable classes atm, scout (sniper), assult (assult rifle+medic), engineer (anti-tank+repair thingy) and support (heavy machinegun+ammo supply). The classes have alot less toys to begin with than their specialised bf2 counterparts (no nades, mines, claymores,flash,defibrillator etc), however those can all be unlocked in time. They need some serious tweaking, I hate the BF2 engine with a passion, but love the game.. Love-hate relationship :(. [ edit ] I forgot to display my utter distaste for the fact they ban the use of widescreen resolutions because EA think it's a form of cheat. --- Cache Clearer Still waiting for a Wrangler-edit!

Your loading times sound a little off... maxed setting takes about 30 secs at the most to load up (AA only at 2x though). Even on my older machine only took 2~mins max. Havocide - DirtyHarry

Screw DICE. they re jsut moeny grinding it big time. same engine for crying out loud id rather downlaod MODS. and frankly MODS like POE, poine of existance the Famous not released yet Forgotten Hope 2 offer better Game play. They are created by true funs and not a registered company, moreover they re free to download. so dont waste money on this new BF game, its something you would play for a week or a month than not play it at all. Its a bit hard to explain but the game is jerky while i have great fps and great ping, its completely unplayable, anyone else with dual core getting this? ______________ Pod from above.

SurfinSeaOtter Amarr	Posted - 2006.10.09 01:35:00 - [13] I got the demo and I'm loving it! The vehicles are no longer godly and the engineer can unlock an AA kit. I'm running an AMD 4000+ with a Nvidia 7950 GX2 and 4Gb RAM. I play lag free on ful settings with 4x Anti Aliasing. Takes about 30 seconds to load and plays flawlessly even on 64 player servers. I can't wait till the full game is released

I admit the server browser is much much better than BF2's though and the gameplay is a lot of fun. But it still has that 'funny jerky feeling' while on the ground as infantry that BF2 had.

Badhan	Posted - 2006.10.09 12:17:00 - [18] Gave it ago over the weekend and I found it played it better then BF2 which either played great or like a dog on my rig. The only issue I had was taking out the consoles on the titan, no matter how much firepower I put into them they did not break!
