Im well what can be regarded as a person wit a limited musical pallet I generally overabuse songs so much that they loose all their kick after theyve been played for the 1000 time. Today I was going to expand my musical library for a bit and than I stalled....what exactly am I going to get.
I thought of going the the billboard 100 site but that really a hit and miss in terms of finding a good seong. So here I am asking the community as to what songs they enjoy to listen to while playing EVE.
Uhh recently I discovered how awesome Vivaldis Four Seasons: Summer is while PvPing ---------
I would love to see a bounty pilot get some friend or an alt to pod them to collect the isk if that resulted in a two week delay before their 'personality' was uploaded to a new clone. |

Just don't enter their site if your easily offended and stuff. (On second thought, let's not link directly) Do enter it if you like industrial metal, guys in military uniforms with riding whips, and lyrics that won't make grandmother happy.
Oh, and I won't tell which member nor what character since it'd not be very nice of me, but I do like listening to them when I play. - Three years old |

gorrilaz has a nice cd you can buy for about 10-15 dollars with somewhere around twenty songs on it if i remember, and the are all very chillax songs which are pretty decent to listen too when you're just cruisin in your low-ridin titan through warp space and what nots
for mining i would suggest classical music or something that has a bit of length to it without being the same 4 second sound loop over and over for the next 30 minuites of your life ( so rap is out of the question ). this of course doesn't exclude techno, trance, drum and base, or something where the general purpose is a distinct rhythm base with a climatic acceleration ( as is the norm in previously mentioned categories ). not to mention the whole futuristic technology appeal of the music suites the game.
for combat i wouldn't necesarily describe the "obvious first choice" of rock bands like disturbed or system of a down mostly because when you get into a battle the action can be rather fast paced ( or at least i find having to maintain target locks, modules, and ammunition reloads as well as ship navigation a rather involving task ) and you won't really have much ear to pay mind to the songs themselvevs. and with the main focus of such song types being harsh lyrics a bit more so than actual musical rhythm it has a potential of becoming lost in the background of the action as harsh noise. instead some classical would suit well ( not exactly ride of the valkries, more so william tell overture or in the hall of the mountain king ), techno and similiar relations can easily come in to play as their primary is on a fast rhythm suitable to the combat.
essentially, following music types meet my recommendation for the EVE experiance:
techno family rock family classical family ( including swing, big band, and its associates )
others can apply in their respected situations. but the following i do not recommend:
rap, hip hop, associates country pop ( britney spears and the likes x_x;; )
and here are some bands you might want to consider investigating: gorrilaz postal service system of a down avenged sevenfold yoko kanno and the seatbelts tesunio imahori basement jax
those are the ones that seem to put numerous titles in my eve playlist
now, if you are so wise as to run eve in windowed mode so that you may watch a movie or browse the internet while you wait for your ship to fill those 5000 cubic meters of ore some things i personally suggest you watch ( available free online )
redvsblue animix amv hell 3: the motion picture
those can easily disolve several hours of time, and even when you go to your game to set the next warp destination you won't really miss anything important so theres no need to pause or go back ( these have an even balance of audio and visual presentation, unlike most movies where the main focus is on what you see not what you hear )
speaking of audio presentations. might i also suggest getting ahold of comedy act audios such as brian regan, steven wright, pablo francisco, and the many other stand up comics available?

Eve has somewhat made me expand my music collection. I've pretty much been focusing on Ambient, but the occasional electronic/rock tune still makes it in my Eve playlist:
Ambient: 1.Brian Eno - Apollo: Atmospheres and Soundtracks (my fav) 2.Steve Roach - pretty much all of his stuff 3.Stars of the Lid
Electronic (upbeat) 1. Juno Reactor (special thanks to an eve video someone once posted)
Interesting (Medieval Structured) 1. Dead Can Dance (special thanks to Eve Forum Poster who mentioned this once)
Soundtracks 1. Battlestar Galactica 2. Firefly
My favorite so far though has to be Brian Eno's Apollo album. To me, it fills the space perfectly while playing. Others may find it wanting to put them to sleep :)

Try www.last.fm.. it tracks what you listen to, and suggests new bands that fit your taste. It's really great. I've discovered a few great artists using it.
