El Covah No Quarter. Axiom Empire	Posted - 2006.10.09 07:41:00 - [1] Hi. Yesterday we had a nice discussion about it and not only I am pretty much curious to know how Serenity proceeds. Watching the "Coldfront-Server-Graph" overall population seems to shrink a little bit. I know so far there are some major alliances (e.g. the "North Alliance" when I remember correctly) and there have been build one outpost. But do you have things like an alliance map ? Is all 0.0 already claimed ? How are T2 BPO seeded and how is the pricing there ? etc. etc. tons of questions ... Is here any player who plays on Serenity and Tranquility and may give us some of these answers ?

I gather that the Chinese government severely restricts internet access to it's population to servers outside of Chinese borders. Thus all internet servers must be within China's borders. This is the reason for the Chinese cluster. Incidentally I would imagine that it also allows the Chinese government some control over the content.

I have seen some early alliance maps, but cannot remember where. There was an earlier post on these forums, if I find em I'll edit this post.

Game content is handled by CCP and translated by CCP China. The Chinese government doesn't do diddly to the game content, if the game doesn't suit them or their laws it doesn't get rights to sell in China period. Basically, EVE China's running the same code as we have with the exception that there's a restriction on online time (Chinese government doesn't think it's good for your physical health to play games all day long, so they don't allow people to do that) As for the OP, I find it very interesting to see how th game will develop if everything is started from square one. My own theory is that it won't be much different from our own, there'll still be people living safe being envious of those who grabbed their guns and made their own safety in the richer asteroid belts. The biggest question, though, is what BoB ChinaÖ will be called. - Three years old
Akkarin Pagan Minmatar Raddick Explorations	Posted - 2006.10.09 09:45:00 - [6] iirc CCP had to edit some of the backstory and other wordings in the game becasue the Chinese government weren't happy with it, but beyond that, they have an almost identical sandbox to us. Would be interesting to see what they have got up to though. Apparently they already have a few large alliances, outposts, battleships, etc. The main thing holding them back is skill training time. Someone pointed out that this is pretty much proof that it's too easy to make isk these days. There's also a link to a Serenity alliance map somewhere in there, but I'm not sure if it is updated like Joshua's is. v. Lin2 infested with chinese adena farmers, Ive never played WOW, but from the ads for in game currency I'd say they infested too.

There are probaly many many other countries im sure a few from other continents that house isk farmers. I remember an article I read years ago about an american guy who setup his own business selling gold in Ultima Online. Point is isk farming is not limited to one nationality or race of people.

The alliance name also include corp name. One thing to note though, the alliance are largely guild formed for other games, and they decide to play EVE online. One thing particular to me is that when Chinese Server went up, many chinese based players left TQ. But right now, there seem a be huge surge of Chinese players returning to TQ again. One thing particular to me is that when Chinese Server went up, many chinese based players left TQ. But right now, there seem a be huge surge of Chinese players returning to TQ again. I am not exactly sure what's the implication is....
