As per some of the other posts in the problems section,, i and a few others are experiencing client lockup problems,, especially after downloading the latest nvidia drivers. I have a chatlog of polaris guys admitting there is a problem with the drivers, and it cost me an appoc,,, response i got from them was, tough sh*t, no ship replacement, even after asking then to maybe post on ingame news if there is an issue.
Anyone else suffering a) the same problems? b) rudeness from certain polaris members?
I do have most of a chatlog of the conversations, and emails.
I have 2 more bships so i dont really care about the loss, but this is the kind of think that causes people to cancell their accounts.
Can we have some sort of official word on the client problem that is supposidly caused by the latest nvidia drivers?
I dont want anyone else losing all their hard work to a stoopid npc pirate that could have been squished with 1 volley of my guns!!!

Tough **** .... yea thats how I felt when you podded me and I lost my heavy mod beams...
I had a ctd and there was nothing I could do to prevent my loss. You were gate camping outside of stain and killing first then asking questions later...
I hate game bugs but I had one that day and there wasnt much sympathy from you... so
Congratulations on your loss..... damn I feel a bit better now....
Tecnopagan.... Just wish I could have been there to paste your pod.

I had problems with the new nvidia drivers. Where did you get yours from ? (the nvidia webby or the windoze update webby). Got mine from nvidia and had no end of problems (ctd, bsod etc) This was all sorted when I installed the ones from the windoze update webby. Wierd. - - - - - - - - -

Techno,
Having killed 15+ battleships with no more than a scratch to mine, I was more upset at the fact of losing a ship for no reason rather than in battle, I look forward to squishing your pathetic body once again.

Despite the fact I was fully aware of lock-up problems and frame rate issues, I still flew a +150 million ISK ship into battle and lost it.
Your fault CCP, replace it!
I'm telling the truth!
Really!
'tis true!

Edited by: Yock on 29/10/2003 20:03:21 Haha why is it that everytime a pirate looses a ship he/she suddenly wants CCP to replace it?

Edited by: Reiisha on 29/10/2003 20:14:12 Well, if you would think about it a little, you know that cirrently ccp cant replace ships, as they cant look into how and why it was lost, or if it was even lost int he first place. Some players can just come up with a story to get a ship they didnt own before. Like: " I lost my apoc !!! I want it back!!! ", and they just had money for a bs skill, and now they need a bs to use it with.
Another reason is, even IF it was lost due to bugs/ctd's, that those players could have used an "exploit" to create the circumstances for aa ctd in dangerous areas. You can never be sure. Untill the find a waterproof way to check wether the player has lost his ship "fair", they wont replace em.

Alpha : 4 Battleships and 1 Bbird to my lone BBird was definitely a squish. Me having the CTD and you griefing me was just another example of how your corp is a pirate corp. I probably cannot best you in battle so I will find other ways to get even. I do appreciate your corp CEO sending me 5M isk for damages. I give a minor nod of respect for that but it hardly covered my losses.
Your response back though I hope puts in perspective the attitude and essence of your corp; Everlasting Griefers...I mean Vendetta... keep up the good PR work so others can learn about what your corp stands for and what 'stoopid' pirates are in it.
And as far as your post goes it sounds just as whiney as my post did when I *****ed about you griefing me thru a game bug... I'm not a big fan of the karma theory but it seems like justice has been served here. But hey keep on whining and maybe you will get heard.

keep the flaming comming tecno. and for pete's sake please learn the definition of a pirate.
EV is a very respectable corp. alpha had no control over your CTD, so why blame him for carrying out an order?
you know what they say, "dont use it if you cant afford to lose it"
No pain, no palm; no thorns, no throne; no gall, no glory; no cross, no crown.

Edited by: chewy on 30/10/2003 01:53:35 In reply to the actual question:
My experience has always been that you only get ships back lost due to IN game bugs! So a problem with drivers etc will not get you your ship back.

Lookup the meaning of griefing in the dictionary and then tell me if your comment was correct...
Damn kids picking up words, using em and not having a clue what they actually mean.

Griefing: no dictionary present so please enlighten me on the definition...
griefing in game seems to be when you take advantage of someone's misfortune. Everalsting Vendetta is not a well respected corp from what I have heard and experienced. I can understand blowing up someone's ship as an attack. Knowing they had ctd or suspected it and then destroying their pod to me is griefing or causing one grief intentionally.
Alpha had no clue who I was and it's my understanding pirates attack whomever, whenever and for whatever reason they chose; they operate outside the law. Alpha a member of EV acted as a pirate would ... end of story... if EV is so respected then why don't they operate with respect and within 'lawful' parameters or guidelines. Its my understanding based on my experience that whenever I see EV they will more than likely pod me for no reason; just like a pirate corp. Please explain how you guys are different and what are your rules of conduct? Was Alpha told not to do that ? was there a fine? What does your corp stand for ?Are you just respected because you have good pvp ppl that like to pod ? Sounds like fear not respect.
I respect mOo and biomass cartel they are excellent pvp ppl but that does not make them a great corp. But based on my past experience with your corp there is nothing to respect... At least the pirate corps are honest with their actions. Your corp seems to be quite false to me. You claim to be pirate hunters and part of a 'good' alliance but it seems that you are interested in podding innocent people as much as 'pirates' .... If you need pvp that much join a pirate corp, be honest about your agressive tendencies, let people aware that you want to play that way and it would level the playing field. I know that Stain is a hostile place I don't go there . I know certain pirate camps are hostile I avoid those. I now have to be careful wherever EV is because they just don't patrol stain anymore they pod whomever, whenver, and wherever they feel like it...
you tell me if you are pirates... and good job to the pirate corps out there that are not hiding their desire for pvp!
A great response from Alpha would have been :
hey I'm sorry I podded you , I got a little excited while camping a gate outside of Stain. I thought you were an enemy. I dunno something like that, but instead from this well respected non-pirate corp I get ...can't wait to squish you again? I lost a ship to Rus once in Obe ... I never complained to them because that is what I expected from a hostile corp in Obe ... I expected much more from Everlasting Vendetta and was let down by the juvenile handling of their mistake of podding an innocent person. That to me was the biggest disappointment ... losing stuff is a big deal but not that bad its part of the game ... I would just much rather lose it without a gamebug and from a 'pirate' corp or at least someone I was at war with. If I were to travel in Stain i would expect to get podded if I was not invited but hell I was quite a few jumps from Stain...
Does this post make sense to anyone? or am i just rambling?
