So, me n Wierchas decided to 1v1 in oursu today, to see if my i-win Thorax setup (which really is ) could beat his diemos in a 1v1. We warped in, and engaged. I launched the ECM drones (vital for the ship) and they didnt jam him. Usually (like 95% of the time) they instajam battlecruisers and below, and BS's about 75% of the time. They didnt get a jam cycle, leading to him raping my shield, armor + struc in about 5 / 6 volleys (gankdiemos! ). I took him down to armor in about 5 volleys. The ECM drones not working versus him made me think back to a few weeks ago, when they failed to jam my CEO in her interceptor. I found it quite weird. After about 10 tries, they failed every time.
So, do ECM drones work versus corpmates? And if not, please make them do so ---

I don't use ECM drones all that often, but the jamming strength of them is quite low. I'm not really suprised that they didn't successfully jam a Deimos. A hornet has 1/15 chance to jam a Deimos. With 5 of them you're talking about having a successful jam only ~30% of the time.
I'm more suprised that you jam BCs 95% of the time.
As with most ECM things - you need a bigger data set. Try it 100 times and see what happens.

Ive never failed to jam a cruiser (med ecm drones), or a battlecruiser (I lie, I failed once) and I've jammed every BS first time. Repeated cycles loose jam sometimes though, but I hope to have them killed before them
Also, if you read on, you would see that I tried versus a corpmates interceptor, around 10 times (I have more jam strength than she had sensor strength) and failed every time. ---

That's what I mean. A probability of 1/10 doesn't mean that you will jam someone once in every ten tries, or even that if you fail 9 times you will succeed on the 10th. It means that over very large numbers of attempts (1000 or so) you will average 1/10.
As for having more jam strength than they had sensor strength - the chance based ECM system does not total points. Each drone acts individually, the only 100% jam would be if a single drone had a strength equal to or greater than your friend's inty.
A new thought - ECM drones have an optimal/falloff much shorter than conventional ECM modules. Medium ECM drones have an optimal of 7500 and a falloff of 7500. Plus - their max speed is only ~3000 m/s. Were the drones within range of their target?

Eugh. It's highly, highly improbable that that would work. ---

i have tell the truth
its story abaut me long time ago i hated ecm so much not single person hated it on eve so hard like me
then was a accident with truck, a truck full of toxic waste later i find i have starge power from that day i am totaly immune to ew
so now evryone knows that ...

Use a single Multispec ECM, chances are your not going to end up using it but if the 5 drones fail to jam (each one gets its own chance to jam so they do end up jamming fairly often except against EW focused ships because they have moderatly higher sensor strengths) the multispec has a very HIGH chance to jam because the drones are already doing -7.5 to all sensors. In the event drones fail to jam that multi spec will end up saving your butt.
Watch out for those < 1% of people that actually bother to fit a ECCM, one of those will almoast alwayse knock off a low level jam like 5 med drones.

Medium ECM drones, as I suppose you were using, has a ECM strenght of 0.65. A Deimos has a magnetometric strenght of 15. This means that a drone has 0.65/15=4.33% to jam per cycle. For 5 drones, the probabiliy of at least one of them jamming is 1-((1-0.0433)^5)~= 20%. If all 5 drones try 10 times, the probability of at least one drone jamming during at least one cycle is 1-((1-0.2)^10)~= 89%.
So basically, in your situation, there was about a 1/10 chance that he would avoid jamming, and he was simply just lucky. Your data does not suggest a high probabily of ECM not working on corpmates.
By the way, a battlecruiser has a ECM resistance of 16-19, so they are harder to jam than that Deimos.

Do ECM drones work on corpmates? yes, i've been jammed by one of those ebil ecm drone raxes dueling with a corpmate
ecm drones seem to jam more reliably for the first few cycles tho, its quite odd like you get jammed for 20-30s straight at the beginning of the fight and then they just continously fail

Six volley of a Deimos is what, 20 seconds ? Your drones failed for 1-2 cycles, which is perfectly possible because the chances of 5 medium ecm drones to jam a Deimos at every cycle is 41%.
