I see many people thinking that BS are ships like the other but a little bigger. A little ?
Take the Eiffel Tower in Paris. It's 300 meter tall.
Dominix Battleship is 450 meter tall (!) and 300 meter large (!!). But that's not all, it's 900 meter long. 3 times the eiffel tower height !
Hum, that's all

Well just think about biggest oil tankers you can fit two and half of football field on their deck if you want to.

... Tackling this size problem from slightly different angle... you can fit 300 cows into Kestrel's cargo bay.
(strictly because for some strange reason a cow in EVE takes only 1 m3 of space, but that's another story =)

I was comparing some sizes with the megathron. The American USS Enterprise is almost half the leg of the megathron

you wish to talk strange, fill upp your cargo with junk modules, just any ol junk will do, cram that stuff so tight you cant vet an after eight mint in there.
Now take it all out and recycle it. Logic states that the recycled materials should be easier to fit into the hold, you have waste so you will in fact be trying to fit in less raw materials than you were with the items and naturally items will have alot of internal space you can now consider minimized.
Guess what, that nice guy at the station actually increased the volume of the raw materials as oposed to the items.
In short, 5000kg in the shape of aluminum chairs take upp less space than 4900kg of ground upp aluminum.
Amazing isnt it :)

I mean, what the heck are they? 15x10x10 meters? May explain why frozen corpses weigh 400kg though...
