Another misconception. My main is an old character. The biggest thing he can fly is a Battleship. I'm two weeks away from getting Freighter level 1, and as I said earlier, 295 days away from getting a Titan.
So I DO get it, and I'm NOT in the big ships. Assumption 4tl.

Wow, flamefest.
I was a new character, I am now a medium character. My feelings on this sort of thing have flipped from one side to the other then back again over the course of the last year.
What is true though is that there needs to be more content in between the tech 1 ships and the current tech 2 ones. Give people some stepping stones and reasonable things to aim for.

well, i am a fairly new player, jz over a month old.
and i think the fact we "young ones" have to catch up with the more senior playes is the BEST part about EVE! i mean, if i could train up skills and pilot a titan in say 2 months... then that would be boring.
but the fact tat it would take a new players months or years to achieve what the more senior players have is the very essence of such games.
but........ of course they are some new players would 'nag' abt this but this is jz my idea.
where's the wonderful feeling of establishment and content and proudness when after one year of hard work and training and earning those ISKs, you can pilot a titan! imagine that feeling of ecstacy and proudness you bring to yourself and to the corp/alliance.
i for one would, sadly not agree with any "quick-learn-become-titan-pilot-in-one-month" ideas. sorry! this formula has been used by so many MMPORG games and i think it should remain an undisturbed formula. i am who i am; therefor i am Her |
