hello there, i'm using a cyclone in 0.0 blood raiders ratting and i've got a very big dilemma. i've been told (and i'm actually doing) to run an armor tank setup, coz the natural resists are the way much more useful than the ship's shield bonus (and it seems to be true).
the thing is that i'm really disappointed on using a ship with half of its bonuses, and it's being clear in the future additions that minnie ships are gonna be more shield tankers than it used to be, when it comes to consider any tank bonus (ships with 2 damage boni still work _also/better_ in armor tank tho).
another thing is that i wouldn't like to train the both shield and armor skills, since i'm gonna be a minnie-only flier and training both sets is a 1/4 waste out of the total time spent, as u'll never be benefitting from both the 2 skill sets at a same time.
i'm just courious if there are any happy shield tankers in bloodraiders and i'd be pleased to them sharing their experiences
i've already talked with a shield tanker in br ratting, knowing some cons and pros of running this setups, more hints are welcome

Try Rupture. Same damage from guns with Min. Cruiser 5 as Cyclone with BC 5, but with armor tank slot layout. Originally by: VekkTor

Acutaly if you use a damage control, you get both bonuses as it gives a boost to shield resit., armor resist, and structure. If you get into trouble, it will give you twice as much time to get away if they get to structre, has low fitting and uses 1 energy to activate. I use a passive shield tanked, and active armor tanked ruppie. It works great and all lvl 2 missions are a complete walk through. I can even have my wife watch it as i go smoke.

We're expecting the new tier-2 battlecruiser, the Hurricane, to be a double-damage-bonus armor tanker. Might be a very nice fit for your situation.

thanks a lot mates, i think i'll be skilling up armor tanking at first then.
any link to official infos about the new bc?
