Hi,
i cant manage to get the game to start via the launcher since today.
I started the launcher just like every time and it pulled a ~22 MB update at aprroximately 17:30 UTC.
Launcher version is: 2.2.865769

choosing okay causes the laucher to crash ( launcher-exe has stopped working )
This may not help at all but thats those are the error details (in german language)

choosing "cancel" starts the launcher, but it doesnt do anything, meaning no "initializing, downloading patch, etc in the progress bar.
i ran the repair tool and it did it´s thing just fine, apart from repairing the launcher 
right now i can start the game using the exefile as a fallback but when the game is patched again i might run into problems.
Please give me some help here fixing this, or, as i am using a pre-release Launcher, give me pre-release features.
Just kidding 
if you need additional information, or need me to test anything to track the error source, i am willing to do so.

Hat off , man. You're a lifesaver. This solution works like a charm.
I did exactly same thing today. Wanted to try out NPE and forgot the same thing about shortcut. And suddenly nothing was working 
Saved me a ton of head scratching and beard pulling here.

i need some assistance in repairing the launcher i followed these steps
1. deleted current singularity client copy
2. copied tranquility and renamed the copy for singularity
3. created in singularity copy a shortcut for launcher and typed in properties /server:87.237.38.50"
4. started the shortcut and it downloaded launcher update then launcher closed automatically
5. started launcher and got an crash but i can see its version 2.2.865769
6. deleted whole launcher from c/program files/eve/singularity folder
7. used the launcher provided by GM Akiian

Please try this:
In the SiSi folder, make a shortcut to your desktop of the repair.exe.
Then right click this shortcut on your desktop and select properties.
Now add " --server=sisi" to the target.
it should look something like this:
"C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\repair.exe" --server=sisi
OR
"C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\repair.exe" --server=87.237.38.50
both of these should work.
after you edited it click ok, then right click the repair.exe shortcut again and select "run as administrator"
IMPORTANT!!
if you run the repair.exe shortcut dont just click next over and over again, you probably have to select the SISI folder as a target as the default location is the TQ directory (at least it was for me)
let it do its thing and when its done create a new shortcut from the launcher.exe in the SiSi directory adding /server:87.237.38.50 to the target just like you did before.
start the launcher, go to the properties ( upper right corner ) and on the "cache" tab deselect "download all res files".
if this works for you feel free to throw some iskies at me or just give me a thanks :)
if it doesnt, please report back in this topic.

have low-end connection with data transfer very limited. can download only 6GB per MONTH then speed is decreased to 2kb/s .
so done our steps and run onto new problems
repair.exe shortcut with sisi thing does not help. because launcher is stuck at 100% res cache download. it downloads same patch file 22mb all time , it s doing the oprtation in singularity copy , checked to be sure , its nteractign with singularity so i wont get tranquility copy hurt .
i forced launcher to work with admin rights. repair.exe shortcut aswell but so far notthing works. launcher is doing notthing.
i deleted all caches and launcher is stuck at 0% now. LOL
so i have now two problems. launcher does not even update the res cache. and repair.exe is downloading some22mb patch all time , after repair.exe download and apply i start it again and see that it downloads again same patch. this is not funny but very insultive.

as far as i know there was a problem with the percentage updating while downloading the rescache due to the percentage only updating for COMPLETED files.
For example:
if the download is 400MB total with 2 files at 200MB each it will jump from 0% to 50% when the first file is downloades and from 50% to 100% once the second has finished.
but it could also be showing 50% when it starts the first file and 100% when the second one start.
im not sure which one it was exactly and i can-¦t find the topic either.
are you sure it is stuck at 100%?
because for me it was "stuck" at 100% for like 5 minutes. i kept the launcher open while taking a shower and 20 minutes later when i finished it was done and ready.
maybe you are just a little impatient :D no offense though.
But im finally running out of options to help you :( |

it says right now DOWNLOADING UPDATES TO RES CACHE (343.80 MB/531.86 MB) 100.0% and notthing has changed. for long time . you are saying that launcher is displaying download progress wrong? example showing 500mb full size , downloaded 150mb and it says 100% progress. i dont get it. launcher does not count percentages and display false results. hmmmmmm
i cleared all caches again and let it download. it stops at same place it was stuck at 100% for hour. ill see if i leave it at 100% for longer will do anything , in fact i still need solutions as it seems that launcher is jammed/stuck |

I have deleted the entire launcher folder and downloaded the supposed new launcher and I'm getting the same message instead of telling everybody to do this and that. How about CCP fix the damn Launcher. Its not our job as customers to insert this bit code or delete that one, that's your job. |

Hi.
Everything should be working as intended with the new shared cache feature.
I made this topic BEFORE the feature was released.
It is now outdated.
To use the Testserver you can simply download either the Sisi online installer which downloads the resources on demand or the offline installer including the payload files from here.
Delete your Testserver installation before doing so.
If a mod reads this, please close the topic, this method I posted is not necessary anymore.
I also updated my first post.
