Well, we all know the new system of looting is coming out, with wrecks and all. The problem is, with all these wrecks hanging about (since they will not dissappear after looting them, only salvaging) there might be added lag. Now my proposition might solve two things here (unless it has already been talked about and it is the case.
How about, for NPC shipwrecks, once the loot is taken the wreck will pop as normal. This is so that when youve got a corp all ratting in 0.0, you don't have TONS of wrecks hanging about.
However, player shipwrecks would not dissappear for a considerable amount of time (~15 - 20 minutes? Just a guess), and they could be salvaged. This would give those pirates that always complain about how hard it is to make a living pirating, another option to make money. What do you say? --

Wreacks are probably going to function like normal loot cans do now, popping within a random time under 2 hours or when all the loot is removed.

Why make posts like this about a feature that's still in developement? Relax ... i'm sure the issue of lag may have crossed their minds already. |

I would like pvp wreaks to be constant, and provide a much much higher "minerals" (dunno what to call rig stuff) then npc wreaks. npc wrecks go away once all loot is removed/random time under 2 hours (like loot cans).
The lag from "constant" player wreacks (players ones are unlikey to remain long), can be offset by doing something about secure cans :P --------------------------
Above post is my opinion only and does not represent my corp/alliance. |

lol, kidding? When should I post about it, after it's implemented and we all complain? By the way, its supposed to be in Kali 1, and the Devs have stated that they are pretty much done with Kali 1, moving some of their employees to work on Kali 2, meaning that this may as well be done with. --

i would recommend complaining about it when its been released, and it actually DOES lag the server
until then, youre basically pointing the finger for a crime that hasn't been committed yet. conspiracy to lag. o.O;;
just chill, you know nothing of how the system operates or what they have in development. you just might be surprised and find that with the new patch they use a new style of more efficient networking framework with heavy ship wreck support ( and why do you people keep spelling wreak? what the hell is a wreak? ) the forum doesn't allow me to post my signature... so i guess this will have to do.

Where the frak did you get THAT idea from anyway ? It's not even ON SISI yet, and it will be on SISI for a good while before it goes on to TQ. And what they said was that they couldn't concentrate on Kali-1 because they were focused on PATCHING DRAGON, so I really have no clue where you come up with the Kali-2 stuff with. __ Always question everything. Including yourself. |

Edited by: Tokka Konnair on 12/10/2006 09:53:41 edit sidenote: damn .. almost posted that perfectly first time ... i accidently put 'recently' instead of 'recent'
He's getting his information from recent blogs but, as is typical on the forums getting it all slightly wrong. Specificaly he's referring to "Meanwhile, the rest of CCP is working on being feature complete for Kali 1, although certain people who have no remaining jobs have moved on to start work on Kali 2." in this blog and "Today is our freeze day for Kali here at CCP" in this blog.
I quite agree with you, spc fish, this attitude of pre-release panic needs to stop. People need to know thier stuff before presuming they can tell the developers what their job is. |
