Last night I was sent a random private message from a very nasty individual trying to steal my account username/password using a "Fishing site".
I just thought I would post a message here in case this happens to anyone else.
Basically this person had created a duplicate EVE website that asked for username/password.
They then proceeded to send me a private message asking for "help" with an EVE question outside of the game and provided the link to their website which was an exact clone of the EVE site asking for username/password.
Luckily I knew what was going on the moment I browsed to the site. (since I work for an internet security company. lol)
I went ahead and petitioned regarding this person, and the GM said they had taken care of this person.
I just thought it was important to make people aware that this kind of funny business is going on, and to make sure if someone sends you a "link to the EVE site" that you check the address line and make sure it contains http://myeve.eve-online.com/...
Be safe out there!

i believe this is the notification at the top of the 'news' section when you login - however, as it seems the majority of players don't stop and read it, kudos to you for taking the time to share the knowledge and keep people safe

pffft, i'd personally rather see the right info a thousand times too often than miss out once because "everyone already knew"
