I know this question have been in topic some times, however , i am 100% nuub.. and i am trying to plan my role in EvE.
i would like to be salesman\trader\miner, and i sometimes haul for my Corp, however i meen thinking on learning to use Freighters sometime into the future.. but can i Haul with that.. some in my Corp says i can't, so i wonder.. is there any restrictions for that ship, i would love to use as a mega-hauler?

It is nothing BUT a hauler - no slots to fit anything though, but with that amount of space, you shouldn't need to. Only downside is that it can only load/unload inside a station, but for trading and general hauling it's fine. Just watch out for it's insanely slow speed and agility, and don't take one into lowsec space or into any space while being wardecced, unless escorted.

Freighters only load and unload regular cargo at STATIONS. The other thing they can do is LAUNCH POS, but they can't scoop'em back up.
You can not get stuff from cans in space, you can not jettison cargo, you don't even dump parts of your cargo when you blow up (at least not yet, maybe they'll change that in the future, maybe they won't). ___
So, if you were planning on "hauling miner jetcans" with the freighter, you can't do that. If you were planning to move stuff you buy from station A and sell them at station B, then the freighter is THE thing for you. __ Always question everything. Including yourself. |

Make sure to get some good reading when travelling in one, it takes minutes to warp out, can go @ less than 100m/s, and do... what, 1AU/s in warp? ----------------

training amarr industrial all the way to 5 is not a bad idea, as it will give you acess to the t2 industrials, and a little further down the line the freighter. And of course the standard t1 haulers will perform much better with the skill maxed. Added cargo space calculations. By the way, the Amarr "heavy haul" transport ship has the LARGEST possible cargohold (with best expanders), and is actually the only ship that CAN scoop up (right now) an entire jetcan and still have some leftover space. __ Always question everything. Not the only one, I can get my Iteron 5 with 5 Local Hulls to 25211m¦, enough for 8 Giant Secure Containers, for a total of 32411m¦ ... with a T1 ship.
You don't even need to best expanders to scoop a full can, using Giant Secure Containers ... but of course, when you need base cargo space to move POS parts and ships around, those Containers have to go ...
