Just read the Sword of Shannarah Trilogy and the Heritage of Shannara set. I'm wondering what is the progression of the series in order? I bought the First King of Shannara and the Voyages of the Jerle Shannara trilogy to read next. Just wondering though what is the natural progression of the series though.
I must say though I love these books thus far, they are a really good series. {o,o} |)__) -"-"- O RLY?

Terry Brooks is one of the worst authors I have come to read upon his work. He writes the most boring and childish books.
It's all "we walked, we were tired, we fought, we killed many, .. repeat"
Utter crap  ===

I actually like the style myself. Granted the first book was kinda like that, but its a nice break from my other favorite author Robert Jordan who goes into almost too much detail. The guy does 2-3 page descriptions of Elyane's dress and how the wind wisps through her hair lol. But otherwise he is good as well.
Its more along the line of the plot and storyline that I like so much. {o,o} |)__) -"-"- O RLY?

Edited by: Paddlefoot Aeon on 13/10/2006 14:08:30 Yeah, I'm a big fan of David Eddings myself, but now that I'm 25, I have found that I really like Terry Goodkind. He has written 10 or 11 books in the same series (with mostly the same characters), and they are a decent bit of grown-up fantasy. Look up "WIZARD'S FIRST RULE" if you are looking for another author to read for a while. Most of his books are 500+ pages...
I never really got into the Shannarah series of books... though I know many people loved them. The author's style just never really appealed to me.
(edit for spelling and general lack of sense )

For some great reading try George R.R. Martins series called a Song of Fire and Ice. The first book is titled "A Game of Thrones". The others are, A Clash of Kings, A Storm of Swords and that latest was called "A Feast For Crows". There are going to be at least 3 more books titled, A Dance with Dragons, The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring. This is a most excellent series.

I've already read the entire Vampire Chronicles, along with the Entire Sword of Truth series that has been released thus far by Terry Goodkind.
Along with the Dark Tower by Stephen King, The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, J.R.R Tolkien's LoTR novels, The Coldfire Trilogy by C.S. Friedman, and many many others i've always been a big reader. I have my mother to thank for that for reading to me alot as a little kid and getting me really involved in reading. By the time I was in the 4th grade I was reading Jurrasic Park by Michael Criton while everyone else was on Goosebump's lol. Hell some of my friends still are on that level
But yeah if anyone has any really good novels I would love to hear them =)
I love fantasy and Sci-fi the most =) {o,o} |)__) -"-"- O RLY?
