I had an odd situation just now. I saw in corp chat that one of our corpmates was being mugged while he was mining (in high sec). They started fighting over it and I came over to help. I lock the guy up, toss out my drones and tell them to attack..... and I get a Concord "are you sure you want to do that" warning?
I thought if someone steals from a corpmates can, and certainly if he's having a shootout with a corpmate, anyone in the corp could jump into it? What happened here?

Quite often you can get the warning regardless, example, I live out in 0.0 and after reinstalling my machine I fired up EVE and undocked. There was a hauler on the outbound gate (kerching) go to attack and I get the Concord warning and the hauler gets away. Concord does not even fly out here but then again if you live in high sec space turn off the warning at your own peril!

If he's done something wrong that makes him attackable without the concord spank troops coming, he will flash red. So red flashing = attack, not red flashing = don't attack.
The warning you got may have been something you always get, or at least the first time you start combat in highsec. But stick with the red flashing rule and you'll be ok.

He wasn't flashing or anything, even though he's right there having a shootout with a corpmate. I haven't changed anything in the overview as far as who flashes and with what color.
Everything I've read says if he's shooting at a corpmate or stealing from his can, that gives me rights to jump into it. I have to say, it was frustrating as hell watching a fight and thinking Concord was going to send me home in a pod for defending my corp.

Edited by: Damien Smith on 13/10/2006 10:06:24 Someone shooting at your corpmate doesn't give you rights to shoot them. This is a total pain the in ass but something you have to live with.
If someone steals from a can owned by a corpmate (player run corp, not npc corp) then you have 15 mins to fire on them.
The bottom line is: flashy red = fire away. Not flashy red = don't fire. ----------- Join channel 'Turby' or die! (bring pie) Mission running carebears drop good loot. Probe one out today! I <3 carebears on toast ^^ - Xorus I'll trade you some carebears for some sheep -Tirg

Ughhh....
Thanks for clearing that up. Glad I chose the right button when that warning popped up.
