No, not for me for the CSM, but ... For me, will you vote?
I want you to. I need you to. Why?
Because there's no reason NOT to and it's just crazy that so many people don't, both in New Eden and RL.
Vote for the trinkets. Vote for the hell of it. Vote to make a difference.
There's plenty of reasons to vote, and all of them are pretty cool. It doesn't cost you extra, and it helps out a fellow pilot make it that much closer to the CSM position they are probably really excited about getting.
And you get trinkets. I haven't read what a trinket is, but I know you get 10 of them, so even if it's something you didn't want (how could you not want cool free EVE stuff?!?!?!), there's someone out there willing to buy them from you. Then you can spend that money on ammo to shoot them and take it back.
So basically, voting is part of the circle of life in EVE, which is really amazing because you're all immortal, so that circle is probably just a really long line or a group of stacked lines inching forward in time, like a staircase.
So, get out there and vote. There's dozens of people to choose from. Maybe you know some. There ya go! Vote for them. Hate the guy/gal/llama/cyborg/dude/thing/person? Vote for other candidates to keep that guy/gal/llama/cyborg/dude/thing/person down.
It's fast. It's free.
I can probably dig up a bunch of buzzwords about voting, but the reality is that I want as many people voting as possible, because the more people that vote, the greater the chance there will be people on top of the CSM to get their issues/feedback/agenda/etc pushed through, which means more things done by and with the community which is pretty damn cool. It's also pretty damn unique... dammit. I mean, seriously, you know EVE. You play EVE. You're in the damn trenches and there are times that your experience, combined with dev experience, has made some really wonderful stuff happen.
You know that's true. Even the people that post about how the CSM doesn't make a difference, know deep down inside... in those cold dark cockles of their heart.... they know that the CSm has brought some great stuff to the table.
So, all you have to do is click the link in this post and click a few names. You're done in less than a minute. What do you have to lose?
Peace out. O7

Well, to a certain degree, you're talking to the right person, as I do some of the banners and messaging for the election.
So, when you're done voting, come back to this thread and let me know what we could do better about the reach, cadence, message, or whatever it is you feel we could improve upon.

More banners, larger banners, Larger flashier static banner on launcher, larger static banner on character screen. More links to sites that can help guide people towards the right candidate or to information about candidates. Drill home the importance of the CSM on the community site with a large highly visible banner link to the voting site. CSM links on ALL Eve related sites. Its not that hard to freakin carpet bomb and idiot proof.
On the other hand, no matter how much more you do, there will still be those who claim they didn't vote because they weren't informed.

Oh? I beg to differ. I don't vote in RL and I don't vote in New Eden. Why? Because I don't believe in elected representation. Its no one else's job but my own to stay informed about issues and to decide if I want to devote time to changing them. No one in RL or New Eden is going to do a better job of representing me than myself.
Example A: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=340393&p=40 post 787
Example B: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=342096&p=7 Post 126
In both examples I found these by watching the dev posts part of the forums, found something I was interested in, and responded to it with reasoned arguments about how I would do things differently. In both cases change happened.

Trinkets, that hold very little value and are not worth the time or consideration they are being given.

Another reason not to vote. There is more truth to this than you realize. the CSM are there for "their" issues. Not mine, not yours, but theirs. I want no part of issues getting special treatment.

Oh I think the CSM makes a big difference. The question then becomes, for who and why? These are not to be scoffed at. |

If you only do banner and similar stuff, you will get poor return because most people have learned by now that banners are usually only useless ads. The banners on launcher are just as bad. I never read anything on it and I am pretty sure a lot of people do like me. There is also a shitload of people just bypassing said launcher because they hate it with a passion. The place to advertise to the whole community for it to be seen is IN GAME. That is the only place active player are sure to be at some point. Not the launcher, not the website, not blogs, not reddit, not any fan sites. The player base is inside the game. Find a way to reach out to them there. |

We also do news, devblogs and posts in several of the social media channels. In-game gets tricky, as CSM is more of a player thing not a pilot thing, and that goes into a grey area. I do get your point, though. If I could skywrite with my Polaris, I'd be scribbling the skies from Empire to nullsec with it.

This is honestly the first time iv heard of the elections this year.
And i wont be voting again this year because it makes no difference on who i vote for and what i care for, because none of the changes to wormhole space came through our wormhole CSM representative. Change the reward (this year the shuttle BPC's) so that it is only redeemable by accounts that voted. Include in the shuttle description that it was due to voting.
The redeem queue could by default contain a 'replica' shuttle describing that the real thing is available to those that vote. |

help you Honestly, 75 candidates are just too many. The community-driven matching tool sat there and acted like it had locked up the JScript a couple of times when I told it to show me all the results/comments, and even then, tbh, it's not really that helpful. The trouble is that vote-match matches you on how much you "agree" with a candidate, where agreement is measured by how closely you answered the same question. But what if you share the opinion "mining sucks" only you answered "Mining needs massive fixing" and they answered "Mining needs worked on, but not at the expense of SOV fixes"? Well, now you've just knocked a candidate you'd love to vote for towards the bottom of the pile. This is mitigated somewhat when candidates offer explanations for their positions, but do I really have time to read through 75 candidates' answers, times the number of questions asked? What about folks like Sort Dragon who don't offer any elaboration at all, yet have (for me, at least) a 98% match rate? I'm pretty sure his priorities are NOT aligned with mine, but without something more to go on... what can I do but either vote for him anyways and hope for the best, or not vote at all and then kvetch when CSM sucks? |

Now let's not be hasty here, as a collector I would ask everyone to not vote for a chance. Think about it: The less people vote, the less people get "trinkets". This is good for a collector like me, rarity rises prices!
It's of course bad for everyone else, but who cares? Just don't vote and buy the trinkets off of other, stupider people to get rich! I assure you, there's nothing wrong with this logic: Let your greed consume you! |

Voted after I found in the redeem bar the shuttle bpc and inquired in local chat on the occasion; had no idea there was a vote going on otherwise. Not sure how many people read the launcher tabs and I bet even less frequent the forums. I had some trouble picking a candidate to vote as many lacked eloquence in their speech and from those who did have it, few had their vision go beyond their personal gameplay preference. |

As per the norm the Null Bloc Votes will virtually always dominate the election, this in turn produces apathy with the empire dwellers.
There are way too many candidates for the average casual player to even bother trying to research every candidate never mind trying to pick 14 out of 77 and decide in which order to put them.
Personally I believe in voting for the candidates that have played longer as they have more dedication to the game, all of my voting this year had quite a few of the goon list on it, mainly as I believe with all the changes that are in the pipeline for sov mechanics etc.
The Majority of Null candidates (or those backed by large bloc voting) will inevitably gain a seat on the CSM so a vast majority will not bother to vote as they see their vote making no differance to the outcome.
I bothered this year as I have the time and used a few tools available to decide for myself, even then I didn't bother with the full 14 slots.
To the majority the CSM is just free stuff for the members and an inside link to what is in the pipeline for various blocs, regardless of what is said some things will be hinted at or leaked to friends/leaders, this has been mentioned in a recent show.
Empire dwelllers will inevitably not bother as they see the CSM as a null bloc tool and not something that may affect their casual gameplay.
I cannot in all honesty see anything CCP does to change this view, free stuff included.
Older players will vote along with those told to, the remainder will not care enough to bother.
P.S. The views of this account does not neccesarily reflect the views of the rest of me
and now for some more of the same from the Constructive Feedback Consortium.

Here's the sad thing.
If the "highsec carebears" actually decided to all vote, the nullbloc would be decimated.
The difference is in notification from the null leadership and communications (ingame evemails, out of game networking, coms, etc).
You don't get that from CCP (because apparently when CCP sends a eve-mail saying vote, its "breaking immersion", but when your CEO says Vote, its perfectly fine).
CCP, Evemail the populous about the o7 show, say you'll be giving away BPC of ship colors or something, self advertise the CSM, give away the stuff during the CSM spheel, open voting Right Then and There.
Honestly you do do enough advertising for the CSM. More is always welcome though.

Well, here's the thing... I vote religiously in real life. I don't think I've ever missed one single vote since I turned 18.
This, however, is a game. And I just do not want to be bothered with political conniving and a voting apparatus in a game.
Also, if you want players' real opinions about the game, possible changes etc, I am pretty sure the CSMs are not the way to get those. I've yet to see even ONE who is in line with even 50% of my general opinions on things, for one.

I remember a few years ago CCP sent out an Eve Mail message informing players about the CSM vote.
Now if that was done every year then I wouldn't have missed this years CSM vote.
Seriously, the majority of the playerbase is in-game, not here in General Discussion.
