Eww... Chocolate in the US is disgusting...
Thank god they import MILKA which is 'ok'. Compared to the options in Europe though... it's sad to be a chocolate lover living in the US! |

Too lazy to find it now but there is a company that found a loop hole where if you send the chocolates directly to a person's house they could continue operating and selling UK chocolate in America.
I also heard that Cadbury can't market a lot of their sweets as chocolate in the UK because it contains too little cocoa mass (I have not fact checked this).

I also heard that Cadbury can't market a lot of their sweets as chocolate in the UK because it contains too little cocoa mass (I have not fact checked this). Couldn't quote anything about England's chocolate laws, but I know America has had to start marketing certain chocolates as chocolate flavored product because the amount of cocoa butter in the chocolate itself was too little to actually make it chocolate, which is really quite sad. Nothing worse than waxy chocolate.

COUGH COUGH!!
Ill just leave this below...
Hershey, the American confectionery giant, has declared legal war on the imports of British-made chocolate such as Cadbury Creme Eggs, Maltesers, Kit Kats and Yorkie bars, claiming that they either infringe the company's US licences or "confuse" customers with similar wrappings and names. The lawsuits against the two major importers of British sweets has left a bitter taste for businesses that cater to the sweet-toothed cravings not just of Britons but also Americans who prefer their chocolate from across the Atlantic..
So yes american sweets are crap :)

I think America used to make the best cooking chocolate available with quite high cocoa solids percentage. Was it called Bakers chocolate or something like that?
When I went to the tenth anniversary Fanfest on my return journey I tried to buy some decent sweets in the airport but I couldn't really find any I liked. I try not to eat too many sweets and chocolate mainly to save my teeth. I think my favourite s probably include Cadburys Fruit & Nut, Quality Street, Bounty bars, After Eight mints, Cadburys Cr+¿me Eggs, Toblerone, fudge,& nougat.

If you can find Vosges or Mast Brothers, those are both excellent American chocolates. Not cheap, but the real stuff isn't.
For American coffee, try Kona. Not a blend, but the straight stuff if you can find it. It's a bit tricky to roast dark, as it's delicate tasting, but it also packs a huge wallop caffeine wise.

You folks must have burnt tastebuds, There is such a thing as to much, if you keep overloading with massive amounts of Chocolates your taste for it changes. In moderation, American chocolate is very good. If you have to have chocolate 2 or 3 times a day, everyday then I can understand why you have to have more chocolate content. Much like a drug, after a bit you got to have more and more to feel anything from it.
That's my opinion, so if it bothers you...then...good. Opinions are like A-holes, everyone has one. If my spelling is not good enough for you....oh well

These certain Devs would certainly jump on the opportunity to make that up their friends.. or not and say they did. You know day 1 is over, and I have not seen you. Its hard to give you pumpkin seeds if I don't even know where you are.
And to the rest of you wonderful staff members, the deal is sign the autograph book, get two pieces of candy as long as supplies or free space for signing exist. I'm already down 4 pages. |

Oh, right! That was you downstairs talking to the HR girls. I guess we missed each other due to me not recognizing you as the sweets guy!
I will be on the lookout for you tomorrow again.

I have dropped off the remaining candy at the info desk at harpa, with Prism X's pumpkin seeds, and a special box of chocolates that goes to the winning dev/s of whatever internal competition you wish to host. Like who ever happens to be alone with the box first.
To the Princess Legion (PL) members, enjoy the rings and thank you for making Fanfest memorable. |
