Happened to be exploring in Tralasa, Kor-Azor earlier when I came across an Unidentified Wormhole in same system as one of the Drifter towers. Thought I'd approach the wormhole and see what happens. Nothing until 18km, and then wham before I can warp Drifter Battleship manned by Apollo Tyrannos that's been watching me kills my Gila. Go back again in rookie ship and this time there are 4 Circadian Sleepers who proceed to do the same. |

I can say something about "getting too close to the wrong hole" at this point.

Seems to be. I knew about their aggression just not when one approached wormhole. |

Wormholes and the Jove Observatory.
Circadian Seekers and Drifter Battleships will attack on both occasions, but Drifters only exist currently in systems with Unidentified Wormholes in them. |

So are these npcs attacking all the time now? Ive approached them so far on several occasions with no agression. I even approached one of these drifters in my noctis without incident. Im assuming i should just avoid these guys all together? Makes me curious what was on the other side of that wormhole you found. |

They will aggress if you either approach the unidentified wormhole or the jove structure. After the first kill, they'll basically kill you on sight for a while.
The wormholes can't be interacted with ...yet. :tinfoil: |

yeah I was about to say something like that, either the NPC have the IWIN button to get you no matter what ship you fly or how fast you get there, or the wormhole is just for looks

There's some speculation that they dislike certain ship designs more but this is not fully proven.

Thank you for supporting Eve industry.
Edit: Many have visited that wormhole while the drifter is off somewhere else. You cannot jump through it.

Having never HEARD of or SEEN a Drifter Battleship (until yesterday) I can "assure" you that they WILL shoot at Marauders......though I have to be honest: I shot first. This was quite amazing as, the Drifter was locked, my drones and missiles were fully engaged. It was slow but...I watched it's shields get fully damaged. My Marauder was fully shield protected....100%...no damage of any kind. Then, in an instant: one shot of something I never saw and my Marauder was gone. I was floating in a capsule so fast I t took a moment to realize what had actually happened. 100% Marauder destruction with ONE SHOT of something. It was, however, ME who fired the first shot. So....take it for what it's worth. |

I have played around on sisi aggressing Drifter Battleships in a chimera, I had an alt in an Etna pushing me shields though, haven't tried it without logi so not sure if the carrier would survive without warping out, I have noticed that it seems the "doomsday" is a one shot and done type of deal as I have never been shot by it more than once, fighters take it out quite fast so if it runs off of a timer to recharge I may be killing it before a second volley can be used.?
My carrier was a T2 fit throw away and my logi was never aggressed, salvage is still scrap and one type of loot is being dropped. for me anyway.. |
