Ok I want to train to use the covert cloaking device so i can fit it to a buzzard I can already fly but something just ruined my plans of great kills of mission runners. I'm thinking since most missions are in a dead space it would be pointless now to train for that? I mean even if i did find them no one can warp directly to me in dead space.. So now thats clear anychance of a fix CCP because this is totaly stupid, i have now done lvl 4 missions and the ammount of isk you can make totaly safe in your little pocket of dead space with no risk its just nuts!!! ___________________________________________________ I want your stuff |

If you probe someone on a mission then the result will drop you at the first deadspace gate. You can then get your gangmates to warp to you at 15k and they'll be on the gate too. All you need then is say a couple of interceptors with afterburners (because mwd's don't work in deadspace) and warp scrams or a gallente recon ship with its tasty warp disruptor range bonus and you're laughing. Jump through the gates until you reach the section your target's in and proceed to give their carebear hides a good beating.

Use a lachesis with an ab to scramble. Much more effective.
Most gate-warp points land you right on a beacon which pretty much screws any attempt to mvoe close to him cloaked.
Usually the targets are within the 60km range of the warp-in point so a lachesis with 2 faction disruptors is perfect.
If you see them on the scanner warping in and out, that's easy, jump into the first level and wait for them at the warp-in spot.

It's called DEAD SPACE for a reason, warp fields can not be generated in those pockets (either natural or artfical). You might as well be asking CCP to let you use MWDs in there also (I know that would make many a mission runnner's day). -------------------------------------------------- Loyal servant of the Amarr empire. would you like some cheese with your whine ??
the system is fine. you can still catch mission runners at the gate or at the station can you not? and you can catch them by scanning them and warping to the same point they use to warp in. it sounds more like you want the abilty to warp to anyone anywhere instantly that you think might not be a in pvp set up.

It is quite possible to catch the people in their missionspots, it's just waaaay too time-consuming.
A long time ago missionspots were normal safespots. Actually they were usually placed in a non-trivial safespot (the type which 99.9% of the eve population uses, between two objects). That made them much harder than normal safespots to find, but nontheless achievable with some moderate skill and a reasonable timeframe.
But noooo, the bears wanted to be even more untouchable. We wantses ubser supersafespots where they can't find us (or so they thought back at those days) so we can fly around in our preciousss without anyone ever being able to engage us. Make us our own little eve-bubble and let us orgasm there for ever and ever and ever.
Well, guess what, that's what happened. Missionspots moved to supersafes (the fact that you see them on the scanner doesn't make the plain safespots, they're still out of the system and therefore supersafes).
Now, it's quite hard to find mission runners, and insanely difficult to find a specific person within a system of many people running missions (let's say you're hunting a wartarget). Add the instadocks and the fact that you cannot possibly die undocking from a station and you got your invulnerability field right there.
Anyway, it's still possible. But it's so tough and has so low chances of success that I only attempt it for faction ships (actually, for their faction loot) and only in systems that have 2-3 battleships in the system MAX.

actually there is ways around that by forcing the person out of re-dock range.

It can be done, but you're only going to catch those running lvl 4 missions. The others can be finished fairly quickly and you'd probably just be wasting your time and probes. If you want to learn how to do it, contact Goljo. He probed out a few lvl 4 missions for us. :) It was a lot of fun sitting at the gate as a HAC warped in... We were so happy that we finished the mission for him.

Okies thanks for the replys, as long as it is possible, then i shall do it, I guess all thats needed is a ceptor with nanos and afterburner to catch them.

I don't. Looting my can is as disappointing an experience as looting any other can in a mission. I just have a few more items of craptastic modules than NPCs.

Let's call this the "save the lvl4 missionrats initiative". Look me up when you're trying this, although I will be forcibly offline for another 3-4 days. Even if I'm offline from eve I'm always on E-R vent so contact an e-r member to ring me up also works. Can talk on ts/vent.
Please save me from the boredom that is no-eve.

you know dahin if they made deadspace missions easy to probe mission runners would just not bother doin the missions in low sec be easier to just do it in high sec. So maybe supersafe's aint a bad idea and maybe if they made lvl 4 missions in high sec even less profitable it might encourage more to venture into low sec reducing lag in other systems.

Kudos for de-mystifying the black art of deep SS busting, Dahin. LT, you're crazy if you pass up that offer. I still remember reading this which blew my head apart. Good luck with the "save the lvl4 missionrats initiative" guys. -------------

We killed a CNR in Taisy that was doing a level 4 mission recently thanks to Dahin and his scanning. It took him quite some time to find it but he did. The Pilot then got away from the mission spot to another safespot in which we killed him.
So like he says it is possible but very time consuming so use the advise he gives.

I've always wondered;
Its dead space, basicly, a natural warp bubble. You can't warp in, and you can't MWD. 8 T2 stabs won't get you in.
Why can you warp out? You used to beable to use a MWD in there & warp out. But now you can only warp out. Seems abit illogical to me.
I say don't let the mission runners be allowed to warp out. ^_^ They'd lose alot more ships. Setup an exit-gate in the last stage, or something. Serpentis Extravaganse without the ability to warp out would be... interesting.
