I have some isk saved up and want to put it to work for me.
I want to take advantage of the constantly fluctuating market.
Im looking to place large buy orders on items and transport them to trade hubs and resell at a good profit.
The problem im encountering is that I have no idea what items I want to buy and sell.
I dont want to work with minerals because its way too competative already and il have almost no chance of making a good profit.
I want something that I can transport relatively easy, and resell for a good profit. Im thinking maybe some type of ship mod, I just have no idea which one.
I also want a common mod, I want the ability to place a buy order and wake up the next morning with it atleast partialy filled.
I dont want to do trade goods because they have little profit unless you have a freightor which I dont have.
If someone could suggest someting I would be grateful.

while i doubt anyone will tell you exactly what to trade. At least I wont, since I dont want the competition.
I will say this, an easy thing to do, is find something thats a very very common drop off of the regional rats, in the area your intrested in, set up a large regional buy order, and wait. Then depending what the item is, move it somewhere that its not a common regional drop, then resell. Or if its something that doesnt get used much, you can just reprocess them for the minerals and resale the minerals.
most important thing to remeber, is that good profits in T1 mod trade doesnt happen for the lazy.

I would suggest some research of the trade skills. The information is available in a sticky. You can place remote buy and sell orders and lock up som npc goods while you move em. Important to watch market prices and look at the history of the items in question.
There are also good tools online, again info is in the sticky. A little research and you'll be on your way. I also reccomend getting some instas for your path. You'll make better time and can get more hops in.

There's a good profit to be made in minerals - you just have to think in macro/aggregate terms.
Even if you're not going to trade in minerals, I'd say stick as "close" to them as possible if you can. More volume, fewer fundamental changes to game mechanisms, more stability - in other words, more consistent profit.

I'd still suggest minerals. It fits most of your other criteria, and once you learn how the market works you shouldn't have any trouble turning a good profit. And it's scalable: you can start small and grow your business until it's huge.
Pick one of the mid-level minerals for starters: mex, iso, or nocx. Warp around to all empire regions and note down average trading prices and the locations and prices of major buy orders. Find an area where the average price is low (but preferably still has a good volume being traded) and set up a buy order for a radius of say 5 systems. Wait until it fills, haul it off to one of the big buy orders and sell directly over the market. Sure, you can set a sell order in one of the hub systems instead but then you'll have to compete with other sellers and that's probably not worth the effort.
At the start it's going to be a lot of work for little profit but once you learn the basic tricks of the trade there will be less work and better profit.

You could also runs some combat missions. Store all of the loot in a station can. Then after a bit take stock. That will tell you what the mission runners in the area get a lot of that they are willing to sell.
