Got a few ideas about crow setup but torn between rockets/higher DPS/high chance of web or lights/lower DPS/small chance of web. This if for general gang PVP and maybe solo PvP Any good set ups appreciated.

Edited by: welsh wizard on 16/10/2006 11:08:01 Marcus it isn't a bloody thorax. Speed is life for the Crow, not hitpoints. So what about a good light missile set up? I have to admit that the 200m plate can be a life saver though, managed to get through a 4 bubble camp last night (with not a lot of my ship left) thanks to the plate.

3x standard launcher II gisti mwd (preferably), tackle, tackle 1 or 2 cpr's (depending on number of disruptors) and fill the remaining lows with nanos. 15km range is no problem, how the bloody **** are you getting the cap? I use a gistii mwd and to run my scram/mwd more or less troughout a fight (you dont have the greatest dps when solo'ing cruisers, i use it for low sec piracy), I need 2x cap power relay's in my lows. My rocket range is only about 12.8km but tbh, with practice that's all you need :) fly gallente mainly so I wont upgrade more into missiles for a while. ----------------------------------Real Gangsta

Edited by: welsh wizard on 17/10/2006 11:20:21 Theres a very important question you've got to ask yourself when you consider using a rocket crow over a light missile crow. Whats the point? You fit your rocket crow with a plate or an extender and go 1v1 against another close range inty, you usually lose trying to beat them at their own game. Your rocket Crow can't hope to beat other close range inties with any regularity because they can fit a tank, you can't. A plate/extender will not help you against a Claw or a Ranis pilot using blasters. It is possible to run a 10-15km rocket setup but it leaves a much smaller margin of error for mistakes. You can try and sit at about 14km but a 10-20km window is far preferable with light missiles. "But rockets do more damage!" True, but why on earth do you need the extra damage when your opponent can't hit you anyway and they're as fragile as a ming vase? The only thing going for rocket Crows is a slightly increased fun factor, possibly. I don't like the idea, it's too vulnerable in web range for an inty of that price. Inside web range is the place for the taranis and (gasp) raptor. If I was going to do it though, I'd go for a sort of jaeger-crow. Rockets, scram, web, BIG plate.RAWR!111 Sig Hijackz0r!!11 - Immy

i have flown both the rocket and the standard nano crow and i prefer the standard because of it's range. To keep the mwd and 20km scram on is a pain in the ass and you wanna get that speed up as much as possible and need lows for that. Therefor i came up with a slightly unusual fitting. 3x standard 1x whatever you can fit and seems usefull 1x mwd (gist preferred 1x 20km fleeting scram 1x small cap booster with 150 cap charges 1x micro auxillary power core thingy 2x local hull nanofiber (domination preferred) Been tackling a ferox for 4 minutes untill help came to break it's tank. precision missiles hitting for 1.3 damage each. optimal speed of approx 5800 higher with good implants and gang bonus. i cary 12 cap booster in the bay + 2 in the booster which usually keeps me running for approx 6-7 minutes. The cap booster has another very large advantage. I regulry tackle bs's and any inty pilot knows that nos are your biggest enemy. The cap booster can provide a full boost in your capacitor and you can hit the mwd once and get out if you must. Downside.......need a supply of cap booster and can't hunt all day long without keeping that in mind.

If you are gonna fight pvp, and use rockets, you are gonna be blown up quickly. With rockets, unless you have VERY VERY VERY GOOD skills, you will be within nos and web range. Use Standard launchers, gives a lower DPS, but its worth it.
