Very lame indeed. We had a fight the other day where two of our alliancemates couldn't jump in to assist because of the queue, and we were fighting on the other side of the gate. -Wrayeth

Well maybe you should drag your wars to less popular regions? Like away from Jita? You know I would think trying to hide in Empire during a war is a little lame also.
I am not saying you hideing, but kinda sounds like you are. This is as bad as it can get, but don't bet on it. |

its actually quite easy to hide during an empire war. Just avoid the hubs and choose a back water system

inexperience of fighting wars. Dont worry plenty of corps make those mistakes if they are in regular wars they soon learn how to fight em

I tried to jump into Gonheim a few days ago there was only my corp mate in the system and was told that i was number 1 in the queue It doesnt just affect popular systems, it also affects systems with noone in them

hauling during wartimes can be done easily
just let someone check local and avoid the big hubs.

scouting - or drop youre industrial guys to NPC corp organise a different channel for them
Um have a hauler in a NPC corp for example = plenty of ways to use lax ingame mechanics to do these things

I can understand the original intent behind jump queues, but their implementation is just plain crappy.
Eg: You can be deep out in 0.0 space where the nearest people are two guys ratting five systems away, but are still put into a jump queue. And as demonstrated in the -V-/Goon RA battle at N-Rael not too long ago, jump queues turn fleet battles into turkey shoots.

I have been stuck in a jump queue where there was only one other person within 10 jumps of me ... he came upa pipe from one direction and me from the other and both got queues for the same system .....with practically no-one in the constellation ... bloody stupid situation

I LOVE the queue jumps... I was stuck in a queue in a lowsec system in my apoc recently, being an outlaw I thought I'd get a little done over when I saw a couple of ships appear on scanner... They warped in to me, attacked me, and I won... All thanks to jump queues! :)
To be honest, if they weren't in the game, you'd just have enormous lag instead. I'd rather sit there in control of my ship waiting 10 seconds to jump rather than my screen sticking for 10 seconds while I could be stuck getting popped with no ability to warp out or anything.
Keep jump queues!

That was borked anyway due to lag and node crashes: Crash, log back in, intitate warp to gate, wait 30 seconds, ship warps and arrive at visually 'empty' gate, wait 2 minutes and wonder, if there are any ships, if the gate friendly, hostile or if a fight is going on and if you're already dead. Get a partial overview update, 5 people to shoot and wait another few minutes, until new stuff appears on the overview or you lose connection again. Don't know, if goons got queued in Konora on top of that, but there was no way to get a nice fight. Was just the biggest lag horror I ever experienced.
Anyway, I agree that queuing at a gate is bad, although so far I have never waited longer than 30 seconds in 0.0 ( to follow my gang into an empty system ) Except after DT of course, when everyone wants to get his system loaded.
Having a break from EVE until my broadband connection is working again. |

CCP probably didnt put in the jump queues for no good reason, or what do you think? :) I dont like them either, but if removed, im sure there would be more severe consequences and then you would have to have petitions about those instead... :)
Something like, "if you dont like getting disconnected, sign the petition!".... :)
