Thats right, the quotes for the word Manual, are well placed. This thread contained a lot of misleading information, such as the figure saying uber hulk pilot can make 93mil/hour mining bistot lol.. which is way off even for maxed out possible miner.
This sort of wrong info could cause people to make certain plans, and then later find out the info is totally wrong.
Imho taking the sticky from the thread was a wise decision, because the sticky gave the thread sort of 'stamp of authencity' (spelling). however it shouldnt have been deleted entirely.. I cant find it here anymore
Of course some would say every forum post should be taken with grain of salt; which is true until it comes to sticky threads imo. ------------------ yay, the Deimos has been saved! |

You make some good points, but it was still far and away the best collection of useful mining info, and your right it shouldn't have been deleted. I use it often, but I also double check all of the numbers and assertions it makes.

No, I dont have the implants yet, exhumer isnt on lvl5 yet, and I didnt have command ship to boost the yield further. I do have mining drone op lvl5 of course.
This accounts maybe for 13+15=about 25% of the diffrence, but his number is almost twice the size.. 55*1.25=68mil, lets round it to 69. how the hell he got to 93?!
In Halada's thread he says 'a hulk will make 58m an hour on bistot', which seems correct based on your experience. He also says an 'uber hulk' will make 93m an hour on bistot at 9000pu. His uber hulk is maxed out, with maxed gang bonuses.
Your figure of 55m * 1.31 (Command Bonus from Command ship w/ maxed skills/implants) * 1.10 (Mining Foreman Bonus) * 1.05 (implant1) * 1.05 (implant2) * (1.15/1.12) (Hulk Bonus from IV to V) = 89.7m an hour. Which I would say is close to 93m and the differences might be explained by not having perfect drone skills/harvesters or the price of bistot. I believe he was also hoping the Mining Foreman Mindlink implant's 15% bonus would be working and included that in the calculation, which would be another ~10% bonus.
That thread was very good an I don't see why it was deleted. The only reason any of the information in it was incorrect was because of exotic errors ccp made and would stealth fix.

Yeah, some of the info was kind of "off". But, as far as I know, there is no other guide out there. Time for an updated thread perhaps?

Now why would they make it totally inaccessible? I really enjoyed reading that guide and it pretty much told me everything I needed to know about mining. Who cares if the figures are off? __________

Ok, lets break it down:
1.31 is command ship with maxed skills, which includes Mining Foreman 5 on the command ship pilot, so you counted it twice, as this skill does not stack.
Hulk from lvl4 -5 is only 3%! how did you come up with incredible number of 15-12%?!
And again I agree it shouldnt have been deleted, just unstickied due to all the wrong figures... ------------------ yay, the Deimos has been saved! |

If you read the original thread, you'd realize I didn't count it twice. The 10% Gang Bonus is from the Mining Foreman Skill.
The 31% is calculated as follows: .02 (from Module) * 5.00 (from the Mining Director Skill) * 1.5 (Squadron Command V) * 1.5 (Mining Foreman Mindlink) = 22.5 Now because the 22.5 is a 'cycle reduction' instead of multiplying by 22.5, it's reducing the 160 seconds by 22.5%: 160 * ( 1 - .225) = 124 seconds 160/124 = 1.29% because of the rounding it seems to be more like 31% in my experience though.
As far as the Level V exhumer, your "3%" is approximately correct, but it's not exact. You have to do 1.15/1.12 = 1.027 to get the correct number. It's a little less than 3%.
This was all in the original and other threads.

maybe u can fill this sheet with your skills: Karos Sheet
if i use max skills, it will be 8361 units of crokite per hour. using the ore refining calculator, i get about 92m, with trit at 2.20, noc at 400 and zyd at 4000.
i dont know how your prices are, but trit goes for over 3, noc for over 500, and zyd for about 4500 at my place in empire. so i would say 93m is definately reachable.
i havent tested the mindlink myself, but i got figures from pilots who do use it and my sheet seems to be correct.

It may not have been perfect but it was damn good - easily the best mining guide for new/progressing miners.
I can understand maybe unstickying it but delete completely? Why?????
So apart from whining here what can I do to try and get it back?
ps thanks for the link.

That was by far the best mining guide out there. CCP doesn't even provide some sort of manual that describes how to do something! Theres still an explanation about how to rent a research slot on a station in the official ccp player guides (see http://www.eve-online.com/guide/en/g13.asp) and THAT was changed about a year ago with the RMR update!
Please, if ccp fails miserable at providing any kind of information how to do things in game, at least let us collect our own information in the forums.

I'm really sorry CCP feels threatened by my opinion, it's not like people don't flame CCP, imho, I don't see them lock every thread. It's true the guide had outdated and incorrect information, but I'd say 90% that was there is accurate and helpful, it took a lot of work, and deleting it entirely was wrong.
And it's not like my flaming wasn't objective... yes I hadn't updated the guide in 2 months, but student life makes it so, still doesn't make the whole thing useless. As I work my way through it I will make a website so I don't have to depend to CCP to rely information...
