Any chance an Anti-Pirate corp could secure one low sec entry system and allow newbs to come in and mine for a few hours? It would be a great PR event for the corp, possible get more people to see the benefit of low sec space and many get some new blood in your corp? May have to get a few corps involved.
The trouble would be if you posted the event then I'm sure many pirates would show up. It would take some corps with nuts the size of grapefruits to pull it off.
Would make for a very interesting event....

Better still how about a corp task force specifically designed to bash the sh*t out of gate campers in 0.0 systems near safe space.

Can ya start on M-0EE8 please, as that is the gate camp i have to try and get past when i go on my jollies every now and again.
I mean who wants to shoot down a harmless shuttle without warning anyway, i only wanna have a look around :(

What is there to gain?
Low sec systems are a waste of time for any corp strong enough to hold down a system.
Said corp would more likely take hold of a 0.0 where for the same maybe less effort you get better ore and better rats.
Also why let a load of noobs into your system to mine the ore you control.
You loose money get bugged by loads of noobs the number of noobs showing up to mine in 0.0 would probably crash a node or two at the same time.
Your node crashes/pirate shows up kills a load of noobs how do you stop noob pirates.
All for publicity you can get for less isk and less risk and less effort

Furthermore it would make a lot of business sense to blockade a 0.0 system from unfriendly forces, allow relative noobs to come in and mine, they just pay 40% of their minerals in a Jetcan when they pass out of the system. Don't pay, well then the tax collector will kill you. Would need quite a sizable task force to enforce law and order, particularly if you decided to enforce "safe-space" rules in a CONCORD fashion.
The system would have to be next to relatively safe space, with no stations and preferably a few gates as possible...

only worth it for 0.0 mate, and then it would just be better to join an alliance and watch an awe inspiring 8 hr op. Low sec would mean you mine the half hrs worth of omber/kernite in the belt, then either be downgraded to scordite/veld or move along.

Lowsec sucks. I don't like spending time in lowsec. The rats aren't worth the time and from everything I've seen the roids don't look like anything to tell mom and pop about either. And you get the bonus fun of dodging zillions of pirates. WHEE!!!
I'll stay in 0.0 thanks. Only times I hit Lowsec is when my alliance is there. And even then most of my time is out in 0.0... I detest lowsec. Pirates in lowsec only thrive because lowsec isn't worth the time the larger corps would have to take to flush them out.
