And until they are as common as domestic cattle and the various whale species populations can be sustained, this is the stance I shall maintain. I do believe these creatures are intelligent but a moratorium based on that alone would not fly with me. Iceland, Japan and Norway had better be prepared for a drop in their tourism, among other things. For one we breed cowssheep, pigs, chickens, or any of the multitute of animals humanity eats; we dont breed whales. Is it all human and such, no, but we as spieces are what we are and need meat with our veggies. Secondly whales are a highly intelligent spieces that we have hardly any understanding off. They are doing so in a educated manner that will not risk any species of whale as a whole. The IWC has contionued to harbor the old view that whaleing must be stopped which in the 80's when it was stopped was a needed measure. As for watson he has sunk ships spiked trees and otherwise put human lives at risk for what is in essence a dumb animal. He should be shot.
