Gen X is the term used to describe those born in the very late 60's to the late 70's (children of the Baby Boomers). Gen Y'ers would be born after that.
And it's not a term used to describe the sporting events that "we" play. It was coined because they couldn't think of something clever (yes, literally) to call the generation spawned from the Baby Boomers.
Oh, and it's used to describe people born in that time period all over the world, not just Americans. --- --- --- ---

We don't have culture, we have cultures. Hehe. Seriously, it is hard to define one American culture, just because the USA is so large. It would be like trying to define Europe with one culture. Can't do it.

Generation X : 1961-1981 Generation Y : 1977-2003 MTV Generation : 1975-1985 Boomerang Generation : 1981-1986 Internet Generation : 1986-1999 New Silent Generation : 2001-
if history proves itself right again.. the next generation will most likely be "The New Baby-Boomers"

And most people are like you; they really couldn't care less. These labels are to help marketers figure out what you, as a WHOLE, would be more interested in and less interested in buying. -- The universe is governed by the aggressive use of force. Hows this for a little note! Oh, and YARRRRR!! - Petwraith I prefer the term RAWR - Xorus |
