For a long time now I've played games and did all my work (3d modelling in Maya and some Photoshop) on a very small crt monitor, I'm not sure but I think its a 15" non widescreen, told you it was small! I dont have any complaints about the picture quality but recently at work we have been using 24" widescreen ones, they are great, so much screen size for working with.
I also recently bought an xbox360 which looks ok on my wide telly but on my mates HD TV it looks amazing. So now I wanna kill 2 birds and get a monitor for both work and playing PC and xb360 games. I'm thinking if I get a big 24" or 30" i will need to use fullscreen AA for all my PC games which I'd rather not do as I will have to buy a new gfx card, so i might go forsomething a bit smaller (cheaper too :P)
I notice on some monitors the refresh rate is not great and Im guessing this will cause bluriness while playing FPS type games. I noticed too that im most cases the bigger ones have worse refresh rates. Could use a little advice. -----------------------------

The bigger the resolution, the less jagged the edges are, so there's less need for AA.
60hz is pretty standard refresh rate on tft's. Recently stumbled upon one that accepted 85hz, but as much as I tried, I couldn't tell the difference (if there was any). It was using the crappy analog interface though.

I can safely reccomend the Dell 2405 FPW
pix0r 1
Pix0r 2
I just ran with the lcd for a while when the first 2 pics were taken but then I just had to give it a friend. The response time of an lcd will never match that of a good crt so I still use my crt for fps gaming but for everything else the lcd is king. The lcd's a lot sharper and has better colour too. dual screen <3
And for killing time while gatecamping, this widescreen comes in very handy. ----------- Join channel 'Turby' or die! (bring pie) Mission running carebears drop good loot. Probe one out today! I <3 carebears on toast ^^ - Xorus I'll trade you some carebears for some sheep -Tirg

I really like my Viewsonic VX2025WM flat panel. Yeah, it's only a 20", but it's a cheaper alternative to the bigger panels.
