Rats seem to be extremely cold. There is loads on scanner. But i think their off grid or something.
Their ALWAYS at the direction of the Sun, when they are not in the belts or where they should be.
Is this still a bug that been there for half a year or so?
And no, its not a big belt, unless there are belts 7 AU big.
Their all running for the Sun. Maybe the Devs should give them free Holiday.

What system are you in? You may be seeing mission spawns.

I've seen this before.
It's a bug, sometimes in certain systems the rats spawn inside the sun, or right next to it.
Bug reported about two years ago, afaik last time I went to that system they were still there.
DT has no effect on them.

More annoying is the rats that don't appear on scanner at all, but are there. Can't count how often I've popped a hauler spawn, grabbed my own hauler, scanned the belt to be sure it's safe, and warped in to OMGWTFBBQTHERESRATSHERE!!!

That's because rat spawns are triggered by you warping in. The reason the scans look clear is that the belts are clear when you scan. ----------- Join channel 'Turby' or die! say whaaaaaaaat that's nuts... no wonder the scanner sometimes doesn't show rats that turn out to be 'there'

ack, north deklein for example (oh btw it seems the warp in point of numerous belts are also bugged, since the warpin point is alltime empty from roids, but lots are on scanner around, probably off grid.)
I think its a grid problem Last time i was ratting i found a 3x 1.7M BS Guristas spawn, and it was constantly mwding away from me with 1000 and 1400 m/s (into the sun, still firing torps). I warped off as when they where 1200km away from the warpin point. this is boring

This is what happened to me.
I was ratting in Querious. I found this officer spawn, but couldnt tank it so warped out. Warped straight back in after that and they were gone, but still on scanner. I scanned em towards the sun. Warped to the sun and got em about 80k km below me, on the scanner ofc. I got my friend to come to me in his inty, and when he finaly got here, the rats had moved again. This time they were back at the belt. ------------------------------------------------ Starmaps - the ultimate way to end BM hell |

one time i was firing at some haulers and they just teleported to the other side of the belt about 30km away. i fly over there and then they teleport 30km away again. i kept it up for about 15 minutes and didn't land a single hit. freaky.
i think to solve that "rat-not-there-on-scanner-warp-in-omg-rats-pop" thing the server could have a "Q" of the next rats to be in that belt and just display them even if they are not there. it's easier to implement than trying to figure out and program appropriate spawn times.
i warped to a planet one time and my overview lights up with about 50 rats. i got the hell out of there. i have looked and never seen any grouping like that since then. --- WCS Nerf boycott low-sec |

I've had this happen to me as well. Triple 1.8m spawns in the middle of the sun. Nothing in the belts.

NPCs in the sun is definatly not a new thing and definatly nothing to do with hidden belts/grid issues.
First time i remember having this in 0.0 was well over 2 years ago in Fountain. ___________________________ Brutors Rule! My Eve-vids; Click. |
