hey people.
i jsut started playing eve, and i have noticed it dosen't pay off to refine the ore i mine, yet anyway. i was wondering at what refining level it starts to pay off? compared to standart selling prices

Level 4 I think... but dont sell the ore, save it until u got better skill

My advice would be to train up the refining and refining efficiency skills as soon as possible to get the maximum returns from your ore.
Until then, it more than likely is more profitable to sell it on the market.
People/Corporations with high refining skills buy the ore semi-cheap rather than mine it themselves)

I was breaking even around Refine 3, 4 would be better

Try and find a corp you would like to join, that is if you don't want to be a freelancer.
Every corporation has at least someone specialized in refining, or they should..and then you can have them refine it for you. Find out their refining/refining effiency skills and use www.bluemonster.us (in or out of game browser) to see what amount of minerals you should receive with their skills. Happy mining 8)

Or mine in a system where there's a lot of factories rented out - ergo, a lot of shipbuilding going on - and sell your ore in that station. Any big shipbuilding corp will pay top ISK for ores, because they'll have 5/5 refining people.

Unless you have refine 5 and refine effeciency 4, I wouldn't bother. Get a friend or corpmate with these skills to refine for you, or just place the raw ore on the market. Don't just sell the ore imediatley, try to buy some and then place a sell order at 1 isk under the amount it's being sold at. Make the order region wide, and for 3 days only. If it hasn't sold in 3 days you have probably had someone undercut you.
