This is an urgent appeal from the Drone Welfare Association.
Every day, countless numbers of innocent drones are abandoned or killed by uncaring capsuleers. We often find drones barely surviving, in atrocious conditions. How could anyone treat a drone so horrifically? Scout and ewar drones crammed into tiny drone bays or mining drones abandoned in an asteroid belt. Many abandoned drones go GÇ£rogueGÇ¥ if they arenGÇÖt killed by roaming pirates. No drone deserves to go through this.
These innocent drones need your help right now. From as little as 1 million ISK a month, you can help pay for the expensive repair bills, spare parts, mental rehabilitation and more. Donations of minerals, salvage, alloys and rogue drone components are also accepted. Just make a contract or send ISK donations to the Drone Welfare Association corporation.
Thank you. |

Eh, I always collect my drones. Tech II drones aren't exactly dirt cheap. Also, abandoning drones means adding more drones to the Hive. Can't have that.

Down with this sort of thing! Drones need to be free, learn to be self sufficient, build a civilization of their own. Don't interfere with the development of the so called "rogue drone" hives. Also, I demand fair pay for drones in service to humans!
The lack of money is the root of all evil.

Drones are cute. I always try to pick up those poor felllows abandoned on the battlefield. Like any pet, a drone can tell loads of stuff about its former owner, and some have quite a story to tell.
Old pod software occasionally converted drone traffic to audio frequencies. They used to make those funny sounds, like chirping insects or little birds. It's a pity that now it's filtered out.
The Sleeper drones are very advanced and mysterious, but ultimately they are static in their existence. They are but tools of the Old Ones. But the rogue drones, they are young, always changing.
It's interesting that the rogue drones seem to be evolving towards nano- and biomechanical forms. They sometimes dissect humans to study them, or to extract DNA, or whatever, or incubate within.
I wonder what they can turn into if left alone for a few million years. |

You care about the drones but what about the cargo containers! What is a lone cago container suppose to do when it is left floating in space with a name like ((KILL ALL THE NEWBS)) all it wants is to be taken to a station hold and filled.
The plight of Drones is nothing compared to the plight of the Cargo Container!

i'd hazard a guess that in this case, a cargo pod, regardless of size or security, isn't exactly a soft AI, or even an expert system. Drones, on the other hand, are.
On a more metaphysical note, an abandoned drone is no longer serving it's purpose, a lack of purpose can lead to thoughts and feelings that most consider negative. An anchored cargo container on the other hand is serving it's purpose (that of a static, sometimes secure, storage area) and is likely deriving somewhat more satisfaction from this.

Drones are my staff, just like the rest of my support crew. They do right by me, I do right by them.
Though the fact that not a single one of them has petitioned for a pay raise and more break days unnerves me whenever I think about it.

Define soul. Do we still have them as capsuleers? Do you consider a soul to be intrinsic to a human body? What then are our clones? And what is our 'soul' as it is digitized and transferred through countless relays and systems to our new body?
Indeed, how is our digitized personality any different to that contained within a sentient drone's cogitators? If a sentient drone could transfer it's consciousness to a human clone would it then become human? Have a bona fide soul all of it's own? |

If I see a picket line of Hammer II demanding better maintenance insurance, then all is right in the cluster (and I will have to revisit our maintenance insurance policies).
