I was one of those people who un-subbed at the release of Incarna. I came back after a few dev blogs promising a turn around. I gotta hand it to you guys i was pretty dissapointed with Incarna but your customer service has been great from my experience. I got a bunch of free days of play which is always great but 2 months of free game time!!! :)http://www.eveonline.com/news.asp?a=single&nid=4817&tid=1
I'm still not going to buy a monocle though sorry. But i will say thank you for giving me lots of fun and the new expansion is great! |

Nothing out of the ordinary here. The buddy system would give a 21-day trial plus a PLEX, that's also 2 months of free game time... |

^^ OP when he sobers up and realizes it's 60 day for new trial account and not his existing one.
^^ OP when he realizes he cant log trial and subbed account on at the same time, but he in fact needs to sub the 60 day trial to dualbox.
^^ OP when he realizes nothing much has changed and it's 4-6 weeks worth of smoke and mirror devving that's been postponed for years as being "too hard to code."

most of the stuff that's now in Crucible.
Like ... the nebulae, the new font, the new UI, etc.

EDIT:
Had to edit a question in. Did you mean by "preparing" as in knowingly releasing Incarna as the clusterfck it was so that they could anger their playerbase, cause staff layoffs and then total reversal of developing priorities resulting in short timeframe to make winter 2011 expansion be something else then it was supposed to be? I'm asking because even I'm not harsh enough to joke about such plan being in place... |

Anyway, if you digest the last dozen devblogs or so,
you can find out why i know for a fact that most stuff has been worked on for most of the year.
Check, for example, when they hired the new Artist. That's a nice clue.
Most clues are spread all over the devblogs.
I realized this little fact simply because some groups were working on different things
waaaaaay before Incarna already, but we haven't seen ANY work from them ...
... like, for example, from that new artist.
It's all spread out there, little bits and pieces.
And Soundfag was so nice to tell us that the 18 months are over, too ...
I don't say that the Incarna-failure was planed ... no, not at all.
What i'm saying is that Crucible was planned already, at least to a certain extent.
They they have changed direction and listen to player dema... wishes ...
... which adds up to the expansion, though.
See, if they really had "Ambulation" ready for the expansion,
they would have released it. But they don't. They couldn't make it.
It all fits together, really. :)
