My eggwatch reporting shocking news about Lilan Khan spotted making out with 2003Cobra. May their BB and Scorp give birth to many new happy campers
While the pirates were busy agreeing on what would be a fair toll, Long Reach from the EVE Marshals were spotted running through the crime scene. Where is the LAW when you need it? ;-)

Ouch!
Unfortunately I was alone in the region and not equipped to handle that situation. I was curious why the locals in the area did not put a force together to remove the threat in an obvious chokepoint.

I would have engaged you in battle, but... you were in a bb and fortified position, My rutpure wasnt set up to handle that.. When I wrote that my friends alt had been smacked so he sat in his egg some 5000km out from camp place and scanned though.. you left for a while, then I jumped in and joined my friend, then you re-appeared a bit later.

I will say one thing for Lilan. When I jumped into Ostingele the other day and she locked me, I didn't notice any drones out, and there was no lag. Because I had sensibly set my autopilot past Ostingele I warped away unscathed (not going to tempt fate by gloating here, I might have to pass that way again ).
Now I'm against jump-in camping for the very reason that a lot of pirates lag the heck out of the jump-in so that people tend to load to find a badly damaged ship, or even a pod. In this case, however, it didn't happen, but then again Lilan was camping alone and not with a fleet.
Why is it that when someone tells you that there are over a billion stars in the universe, you believe them, but if they tell you there is wet paint somewhere, you have to touch it to make sure? |

She said she gave people 40 secs to respond to her demands of a toll before she gan..... (soory) killed them Did as well negotiate toll deppending on players status I think... Maybe some of these gankers out there could learn something of her

Edited by: Repins ad on 04/11/2003 11:44:52 Edited by: Repins ad on 04/11/2003 11:44:04 A 40 second negotiation period is'nt very long especialy for new players.
Although it's longer than I was given by Majin Buu, Rampage & Finley. (Bit of an overkill guys) Who decided to pod me in my shiney new Ibis fresh out of training.
Respect where its due Lilan at least you give your victims some sort of chance.
I think people realy should start to differentiate tho between the true career pirates & the street gangs that lag camp gates but run at the first sight of being out numbered!

"A 40 second negotiation period is'nt very long especialy for new players."
Indeed, but if someone logs out to save their ship then it doesn't take that ship very long to disappear, either... leaving people more time is a risk the smarter pirates will probably not take.

well considering if some one logs and uses an alt they can be gone in abut 13 secs, so i think 20-40 secs is a fair respons to show that they are there, if you stay silent to my demands of ransom being told over local then well....

Fair enough. And if you're jumping into a low security area and not checking on local (even if only to see who's there) then unless you're a total noob who's accidentally wandered too far, you have only yourself to blame if you don't respond in time.

If they are jump-in camping, you would not see them in local til it's too late. ------------------------------------------------

True, but at least you would be watching local and notice any demands being made before your 40 seconds were up

considering i dont camp whit drones and mines and often alone the load time shoud be just as normal, i am in a system whit almsot 90 jumps at peak i get like 3-4 per hour, thats like 3%of all jump ins that aint realy much no?

'Remember, Remember,The fifth of November, Gunpowder, treason and plotą'
*****Travel Warning*****
Pirates are infesting Ostingele so please try and avoid if at all possible. Check your map for pilots in space, ships destroyed and pods destroyed in last 24 hours before attempting to jump in. Mines placed at the jump in point will create LOTS of lag and the activation of your clone, as my scout found out .
Apart from this we had a nice fireworks display last night destroying the minefield, so Guy Fawkes legend lives on!!! Think someone took a screenie will try and get a link.
