Wow this concept really excited me when I saw the fanfest pictures! Kind of like a player housing. There can be small(personal), medium, large, and unique faction variants.
There are a hell of a lot of things to be worked out to make this balanced, but it would be so awesome! If the shipyard is shared by an organization, there should be some kind of access/permissions associated with it for sure to keep ships secure...
I feel like this concept has been in eve since it was released, if you go into some mission deadspace complexes you will see some of them :) |

I think it would be a very fun way to show off a collection! Maybe there can be a highsec variant that acts like an instance, it and it's contents spawn in the general area that it was placed on login of the player, or if someone warps to a special bookmark or ticket given out by the owner, where as the visitor would only be able to look unless they were given permissions by the owner to access any of the docks, where each dock could have a different set of permissions for player access.. highsec instanced ones would probably be invincible even in wardec.
Imagine Entity with his faction dockyard, very large, filled with his collection and you could actually visit it......Or go to the dockyard where chribba's revelation is stored.
Highsec ones would have to be completely different then low/null which those can be attackable and are scannable, not instanced and persistent even when owner is logged off. |

With the above ideas. There should maybe be a hard cap on how many of these that can be placed by a player account(not just individual character). One in highsec, x in low/null.
Corps and alliances would be bound by a similar cap, and it could be bound to the account of the CEO or someone with dockmaster roles to prevent entities from placing a bunch in a enemy system, where unfair griefing would occur by flooding these structures. |
